From the initial Trailer they show an Atlas getting dropped in via some sort of aircraft,
and in the background as I post this I see a drop-ship in the game art.
Has PGI said anything about spawn in mechanics? Will we see a cool intro cinematic to matches showing our Custom Mech being dropped into battle like that video, or will it be more of everyone spawns on opposite sides of the map and a timer counts down to match start?
I think an intro cinematic would be great for seeing your own custom Mech "in action" outside of the Mech Lab.. I also think since you only get one life per match, it would be more fitting than the traditional "Spawn in, beep beep beep, game on!" that you get with most of today's titles.
Anyway, has there been any word on this?

Capitalization Thread Problem
26 May 2012 - 09:23 PM
Hey, don't mean to bother I know you're all probably busy with the beta and all, however I have posted 5 separate times in the capitalization thread.
Here
http://mwomercs.com/...108#entry261108
And every time the thread is refreshed my Pilot name remains the same.
KT gRIM instead of KT Grim.
Is there something I can do to help the process?
Thanks for your time.

Help with Logitech Joystick/Windows 8
25 May 2012 - 03:52 PM
Bah little late to be figuring this out I know but does anyone else have an Extreme 3D Pro Logitech Joystick and are using the Windows 8 Consumer Preview?
I can only assume that is the source of my problem and the problem is that the Joystick is not being detected, at all.
Any tips and or workarounds?

MWO Graphical Updates
25 May 2012 - 01:07 PM
I did a bit of searching and found nothing related to this.
I know that one of the devs priorities with MWO was to show what the MechWarrior universe can look like with top of the line tech. (CryEngine 3).
Have they mentioned anything about updating the games graphics as time goes on?
For instance is it possible that they will add it effects/features at a later date the same way they add Mechs and Maps?
I would love to see more features added in post launch. Maybe some real-time reflections in the cockpit glass (possibly being able to see a reflection of your pilot), tessellation, some Bokeh DoF, and other goodies that CE3 allows.
Obviously these are not a priority right now, but they would be nice as I said post launch.

Nostalgia Overload.

All this MWO excitement is pushing me over the edge.
MechWarrior 2 was the first PC game I really, completely and utterly lost myself in. I played it for years and loved every second of it. By the time MW3 came around I did not have a PC capable of running it, so I bought the Strategy guide,(still have it somewhere) and read and reread all the descriptions of Mechs and Weapons etc.
Sadly, by the time I got a PC that could run it well it was outdated, and MW4 had released, I tried the demo and for some reason was very disappointing. (never tried the full game mind you.)
One day I decided I would try MW3 and see if it lived up to my expectation, however I soon discovered my PC was "too new" and it would not function...
So all I am left with are my (albeit very very fond) memories of MW2, GBL, and Mercenaries.
Is it weird that I kind of want to pick up an old laptop with the sole purpose of playing MW2 and MW3 in anticipation for MWO?
And if I were to pick up such a laptop, what specs would be in the Goldy-locks zone? To be able to play MW2 still, but be able to Max out MW3...?
Truth be told I really want to Pilot a Timber Wolf once again.
