Very Strange Permanent Shut Down Bug

I don't even know how to describe this bug, while i have a LOT of HUD bugs, i figure oh well it happens. This new one is driving me up the wall

Happened 3 times, Running full speed in my mech, all the sudden bitchin' betty says "system offline" mech shuts off hud goes away, I have a in game cursor. No buttons respond, cannot turn the mech on, cannot even hold my look around key. Keyboard completely non responsive. I can see everything just like a shut down mech, but i'm basically trapped in my cockpit and have to wait till the match ends.

Also no text box, no button on the keyboard causes a response. I don't even begin to understand this bug. I think PGI is nerfing me and sending remote shut down signals to my mech. Either way, help?

What Are We Looking Forward To Next Patch?

Normally i'm up to date on this stuff, I was thinking what are we looking forward to. Now that the new maps are out I suppose we won't see one for like 3 months? What else? Highlander this next patch maybe? New vision modes? Anything else I can't think of? Kinda of depressing. Maps and game modes are my most looked for content because they make the game interesting for me and add replayablility as for mechs, you tend to tear through quickly and the Jager IMO was a bit of a let down since the cataphract and catapult fulfills all it's roles better.

Just curious after listening to the NGNG podcast Bryan mentioned a bunch of CW style features lobby and dropship and such but those were at the bare minimum 60-90 days away.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Oh I forgot Bryan mentioned UI 2.0 many times but from the sounds of things that's one of those future projects that's in the works. He didn't give a date for it.

Undocumented Patch Notes 01-15-2013 Update#8

Well, as per usual, I have noticed a few changes that the patch notes haven't mentioned. Please chime in with your observations so we can make a comprehensive list. Will update as I confirm.

#1. Mech readout on left on JJ capable mechs now shows how far they can jump in meters. This feature has been in for awhile.

#2 JJ's now cause significant heat.

#3 Mech readout for heat efficiency has changed many report higher #'s. Maybe they weren't considering DHS before?

#4 It appears the ammunition icons got fixed from when last patch broke them.

#5 (unconfirmed) Hunchback 4SP has crazy sun glare on the bottom right display screen in the cockpit especially on forest colony. It appears the cockpit lights glare is causing it.

#6 (unconfirmed) Some people are reporting that their mechs are slipping around when on hills. Haven't tested this myself yet.


Please let me know if you notice anything undocumented.

Hide Hud Wont Work

Hey how can i bound my hide hud? For some reasons shift+f11 won't get rid of my hud. Can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know?

Does anyone have any idea where the little green/yellow/red light is in the cockpit that indicate it's closed/open/destroyed status? I've looked everywhere asked a ton of people nobody can seem to find it. I would really like to know, does anyone know?
