In Topic: Do You Use A Joystick Or A Mouse + Keyboard?

Just a heads up I play with my trusty Xbox controller and Xpadder software and its fantastic. You can also map a trigger to be a fine aim button and it makes the long range sniping much better. It is a different play style but it works very well and if any one you would like to try it let me know and I will help you. I can give you xpadder and a copy of my pad map for you to start with so all the work is done. BTW I believe in the joystick thing an d hate mouse and keyboard but I really feel like this game plays great with a gamepad. Also xpadder can be used to map a joystick as well and there are other 3rd part emulators that will run a joystick for you a well. You dont have to use the in game integration.

No negative comments to give you. If it works for you and you can manage what heat there is and kill the bad guys then awesome for you. There is so much talk on these forums about OP builds and boat builds that real customization talk gets lost in the sauce. Granted yours is kind of a boat build but it is a great use of a dragon and sniping and moving fast are 2 things that mech is really good at. The best part is you are excited about it and are more than likely going to go out and be a solid asset for your team. Im actually a big fan of the dragon though I havent used it since Open Beta due to running my Founders Atlas as primary but that seems like a solid build as long as you dont get stuck in a face to face situation. Good Luck!

I started this game playing hunchies and dragons and love those mechs and I like the cataphract as well but I find myself spending the most time in my Atlas founders. Its well balanced, can take a beating and puts out a world of hurt. With the master skills its even better. I dont fear anything on its own in game and only really sweat when I see a couple of streak builds coming my way or a gauss cat and a buddy. Even then I usually come out ahead and am currently running a 3.5 kd. I didnt plan on running assaults in this game but Im damned good at it and probably wont stop anytime soon.

This is exactly how it was in the many early online games and I love the idea. I sued to play Rainbow Six Black Arrow all the time and that was a 1 life per match type of game. You sat through the rest of the match and cheered on your teammates and coudlnt even talk to them like you can now. You could only talk to your other dead teammates. I think some of the convenience should be taken away. We might lose a few people with short attention spans but we might gain some extra community solidarity. Pug team s might actually communicate more before and after death and the noobs would be forced to watch better players play and think about their mistakes. I dont agree that it will cause a mass exodus of players as those people will still want to play and lets be real most games last 7 minutes or less. It takes care of the exploiters as well as something needs to. Ganted these are the opinions of a player who never leaves till the game is done unless the pugs on my team are just horrible and through lack of comms and bad attitude caused my team to die. This would certainly make players more cautious and less likely to noob rush and rambo.
