What Is The Point Of Larger Maps?

Serious question. What do they add to the game? Is it different in 8v8? I only pug so almost all of my matches go the same:

Frozen City: We play Red Rover across the downed dropship sniping until one team charges.

River City: Either one teams goes water and gets wasted, or it's a brawl in Upper City, or one team goes Upper the other goes Lower and it's a base cap game.

Alpine/Tourmalin: See you in D5 guys! Or we'll miss each other and it's a base cap game.

Caustic: Brawl in F4/E6 or we miss each other and have to base cap.

Forest: Team with the fewest that go water wins.


Just seems like there's no real reason to use the space. I never see anyone flanking. Only thing the large maps bring to the table is that lights can potentially win by cap after their team gets wiped out.

Rl Reverse Engineering Of "lostech"

Every now and then I see a thread about how the concept of lostech is "illogical" .

This is a neat little article on a teardown and rebuild of a 1960's rocket engine.

Was a pretty complicated job considering it's only 50 years old and our tech has continued moving forward since then. Would have probably been next to impossible without modern computer imaging.

Anyone Know How Lbx Projectiles Function In Game?

Does the game consider the LBX a single weapon that fires 10 projectiles?

Or is the LBX a cluster of 10 weapons that each fire a single projectile?


I'm wondering, with convergence being in the game, if the LBX was coded as a cluster of 10 weapons could the dev's program in a sort of "mini convergence" that would adjust the spread of the pellets?

Sorta the reverse of what we have now (weapons converge at long range), pointing the reticle at a short range target would cause the 10 weapons to diverge.

This would allow the devs to buff pellet damage as you won't be able to do pinpoint damage at point blank range, while keeping tighter cluster at long range making the LBX semi-useful.
