This is my question to PGI/Dev's, what was the logic and thinking behind it?
ECM in its' state is really OP/broken by the fact that certain mechs in certain chassis can carry them with missiles to boot. I think the combination is what is the problem (yes stated many times already I know), but I haven't seen an real fixes that are swift and easy for PGI to fix. If they just change which mechs could mount (yes I said mount) ECM it would be rendered fixed and a great compromise to the problem at hand. With the fix we would have mechs that are currently only used to level to elite/master proficiencies become viable and needed once again on the battle field. The current ECM OP/broken mechanic mechs will be fine and still be viable and strong in their respective chassis/class too, but would give us the needed information war fare, but go along way in the diversity which a lot of peeps scream for as well.
Two glaring examples are he Commando/Raven, both ECM carry variants are the ones with the most/best suited missile platforms, why? The Atlas choice, again best missiles and most modules, why?
By the above choices we have negated so many other variants in respective classes or type of similar Mechs. Why not just place or allow ECM on all the variants that lack or require better use of such power. Such as maybe the K-Copy Atlas (it would give it it's need role of support better), maybe the Jenner with only lasers (K also I believe) and do it to similar variants per-Mech chassis. This would take away the stealth streak mobile abuse platform of certain mechs and find a role for others in one fell swoop. Use variants in chassis that are mostly ballistic and/or non-missile boating capable to be able to mount the current OP/broken ECM suite we currently have in-game.
Just my one cent of brain power left tonight.

Hero Mech Incentive To Purchase?
30 January 2013 - 11:35 AM
First, I would like to mention that I have seen this idea mentioned many times on the forums and probably here also. I will go into this in more depth and the rational as to why PGI should give more incentive in regards to purchasing Hero Mechs. I will also try to show how it will benefit their customer base to get behind the MWO brand by purchasing the Hero Mechs, but with incentive and win/win for both.
1. Hero Mechs should come with free mech bay for storage.
2. Purchase events with Hero Mechs on free 3 to 5 day premium bonuses.
3. Camo alts on certain Hero's, again you pick at purchase, scheme/different colors.
4. Hero Mechs Camo is yours to own, can use on other mechs.
5. Hero Mech's Camo color can be changed (gives diversification)
Now, the reasoning behind these subtle, but incentive base ideas, is that PGI gets the consumer pumped up about their purchase. The consumers will want to buy not one or two Hero Mechs, but all that come out in the future. The cost would not differ from now, so again the purchases bring in same return with little to no effort or loss of business on PGI's behalf, but a huge net gain in number of purchases. The incentives are not real MC driven loss's, but small mitigated incentives to the customers to give them more value in the purchase, at little net loss to PGI. All these things above could be injected quickly with little time management and cost to PGI and would bring huge gains to them and the player base.
Well just some ideas I wanted to bring to light if not mentioned before, as I am sure they all have been somewhere on the forums. Just see so much hate about cost in MC's for things, feel that PGI could gain in return for giving.
