Go play a missile boat against a machinegun boat on Tourmaline Desert, where the MG has it's full advantage, then come back and tell me that same thing.

Your thread is absurd.

MG's are nowhere near as good as SRM's.

I mean, seriously dude.. the 4 6's are gonna hit you, all at once for a ton of damage. Your 6 MG's are gonna do 2.4 damage in a second, spread all over the place, and you're gonna have to keep staring right at me while I twist around.

You're gonna make my armor yellow, and every time my weapons recycle, I'm gonna dump a huge amount of damage directly into your face.

I'm not sure why this kind of thing is so hard to understand. DPS doesn't mean anything in this game, because mechs have specific components. Spraying damage all over all my armor panels is not the same as doing that damage to a single location.

Go ahead though, dude. Go drive your MG mech and make some videos of how awesome it is. Because every time I see a mech in game with MG's, I have always been able to ignore them completely until I felt like killing them, because they did absolutely nothing of value with their MG's.

The point is SRMs suck and need their old damage back ASAP

SRM's may need their damage boosted (although they're not going to get it until the splash is removed), but that doesn't change the fact that MG's are even more of a joke.

You, sir, are the only one to come up with a coherent response, you even used statistics acceptably, nevertheless I still assert that to some degree something needs to be done about this. PGI can not simply make free with high efficiency, light weight, biolistic arms and not contribute in some form of interchange for the missile manipulator fellows.

Sorry dude, but a lot of us have already seen some of the errors you've made, multiple times... so we're kind of beyond bothering to explain all of the details about why they're wrong.

The continuous fire thing, for instance, has been said by tons of folks who don't really understand how the game works. As Jobe points out, it's clearly a disadvantage, rather than an advantage.

I dont know why everyone is all hung up on stock builds and weights. Do you know anyone that religiously only will run a stock build mech?

Reducing weight on pulse lasers is not a bad idea. Drop MPLs to 1.5 and LPL to 6. This makes them slightly more heavy, but not that much heavier.

Hey, I'm only telling you how it is. The devs have indicated that they are not real keen on changing the weight of weapons and equipment.

Do not play with the ranges. Leaving those as they should be makes to make a decision, range or beam duration?

Why not change the ranges?

This thread focuses on a suggestion to roll back some of the early weapons changes from closed beta, due to changes in major aspects of the game since those changes were made.
