They have said that the founders packs will likely be available for at least 4 weeks, so don't worry too much.

In Topic: Best mech to take on an Atlas at release?

21 June 2012 - 06:56 PM

An Awesome could do it. There are several different versions than just the 3x PPC variant. For example the AWS-8T has 2 Large Lasers and 2 LRM15's (though likes to run a touch hot).

Depending on the area and exact variant, I could see a Stalker giving an Atlas problems as well.

If they add in other Assaults I can think of a couple others. For example, the Annihilator ANH-1A (if it ever manages to waddle to the battle front), some versions of the BattleMaster could give an Atlas problems at med-long range, and with minimal modification the Highlander could easily give the Atlas a run for its money.

Different computer voices, assuming the 'Mech AI has one.

Different HUD layouts/colors.

I like the idea people have posted for something that lets you upload your own pictures to have posted on the 'Mech dash or whatever.

In Topic: Humanoid or Non Humanoid Mech Preferances and Why

IIRC Cannonically the reverse-joint type 'Mechs are typically supposed to be more agile and faster moving, however it is more difficult to make their legs robust as the design is more easily damaged. Humanoid 'Mech legs tend to be more solid but less agile.

That said, when it comes to actual mechanics there isn't any difference so it is all aesthetics unless the game designers make things different.
