Connor 'Claw' Richardson grew up in a small but loyal family in the city of Portland, New Avalon. His early life was that of an average but hardworking student, with notable marks for creativity, fitness, and gymnastics. Like many young citizens of the Federated Suns capitol world, Richardson became interested in military service from a young age. Also like many young men his age, he dreamed of becoming one of the MechWarriors, the well known pilots of the mighty BattleMechs. This childhood dream quickly became his career path after his father, a decorated aerospace pilot and native of the planet Robinson, was killed in action during a battle with the Draconis Combine in 3040. For three years, Richardson worked part-time for Valiant Systems until he could afford travel to his father’s home world. Once there, he attended the renowned Robinson Battle Academy for four years, footing the bill with a combination of his inheritance and hard work. He graduated from the Academy with above average marks in the fall of 3047 at age 22, with high marks for his dexterity, fitness, and as one instructor put it, “Extraordinary Dedication.” He was soon recruited by the 1st Robinson Rangers as a MechWarrior, fulfilling his childhood dream. While wise enough not to seek revenge, Richardson has a great hatred for the Combine, a trait which makes him right at home with the Rangers. He quickly rose to the rank of Captain, and is a highly respected, if somewhat undisciplined, member of the unit.
