Clans vs IS.. well alot of the clan mechs do have a nice look to them, they look cool and are OP. IS mechs have that look of wow you got hit in the face with the ugly tree and some how its ok.,
Me personaly I see the clans as some have said major league sh@ibags with enough ego and attitude spawned by there over powered tech created so that the game designers and writters could bring up the tech levels of the IS.
Now MWo will start just before the invasion so we have a year or so before we see clan mechs. How they will be introduced is yet to be announced and I expect to see plenty of posts made about forming player controlled clans.
Now what does seem to be obvious is that none of us are going to be able to lay claim to leadership of any of the Merc/House Units or Clans. More than likely when players are allowed to ally themselves with clans latter, they will have to work there way up from a simple mechwarrior, fight for a blood name, and maybe if its allowed Kahn status.
For us IS players we can either be part of an official unit, or create our own Merc Companies and start our very own legends.
I better stop before I start rambling more than normal

Its going to be fun when the clans finaly do arrive.. Im not a clanner or want to be one. I am a die hard supporter of the Star League and me and my unit are the leftovers of a unit who spit in half when the call to leave the inner Sphere was made. Those of who stayd behind have had hard lives upholding the beliefs and traditions of the star league while surrounded by the ambitions of the House lords,...
I see the clans not as a saving force to reunite and give birth to a new star league but as invaiders who must be stopped...
((Sorry had to jump in and stir things up some for ya))

Well lets see, on Opening day live. the huge influx of players chomping at the bit will all start to download the client and crash the download server. They will then of course log in to the forums and ***** about it saying how they can't belive the devs would not plan ahead for that contingincy
Then those who do get in and start playing will of course have pre-concieved ideas of how things should be and when they either do or don't meet them more complaints and posts about how PGI has failed to do the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe justice
The fanboys will of course unite and shout about how everythinhg will get better and many arguments will begine. The forum trolls will appear and start making posts about how the game sucks and that they are canceling there acounts.
Meanwhile in game the cod kids will be making the lives of everyone else a living hell as they spawn kill there team mates and basicaly ruin the feel of the game while blasting out spamm in what ever form of communication is enabled in game.
My advice, grab something cold to drink, some snacks and enjoy the ride as you blast the rest of the losers into twisted wrecks of metal and laugh at the cries of cheater and hacker... ignore the cod kids and just blow there heads off after they fire at ya. and have some paitence for the devs to patch and update the game. It is after all going to be free to play so its not like your losing anything.
Catch ya all on the battlefield when the game goes live

Mine told me to Offer up my first born son, a dozen kittens and to abstain from anything not Battletech related....Sounds good to me. But what was the Dozen Kittens for.. Hmmm

Don't freak out about beta.. Its really normal for invites to be sent out over a number of days even weeks. I would not be surprised if after the first 1000 invites they may do more as a stress test or to get a larger pool of testers
