You know those times you put 120 points of ppc into the back of an atlas and he doesnt die so you scratch your head while you are shutdown? Yeah it is annoying, 120 points should be more than enough to instagib him from the back but it didn't i think i left him with orange internals. I know this game has register issues, netcode issues still and hitbox issues. But it is better now than it was 6 months ago. Sometimes it feels like i register hits more if i just use 2 ppcs at a time instead of putting 4 into them at once.

Sure enough, some of the regulars I played with had hitbox issues and the changes PGI made seemed to help them a lot. But it's just one of those things where the changes implemented have had no effect for me.

So I wait, and I see. I've gotten to a point, where as much as I love MechWarrior, if this game is to never resolve these issues, then I'll just have to move on and play something else.

I'm noticing that damage is not always registering on my opponent, yet the game is counting the damage at the end of the match for c-bill and stat recording purposes.

It appear that the client-server communication is getting lost somewhere. This happens at least once per match. Very noticeable when you are using 5LL alpha on a still light, and the armor only goes to yellow.

Sometimes the enemy paper doll will flash, but no damage appears to be recorded. In extreme cases the paperdoll doesn't register either.

Either way, something is definitely up.

I'm in week 6 of a hiatus from MW for this very reason. Hitbox registration issues have plagued this game since day 1. It seems to become really bad when you're attacking fast moving mechs. Their registration on you is fine, but they either get hit and don't register at all, get hit and blink as if they register, but don't take any damage, or get hit and blink as if they register, but take a fraction of the damage applied.

In about 2 more weeks or so I'll patch up, see if the game is still suffering from this, and if so, just go on another 2 month hiatus. I made my sig as a foot in mouth cynical remark, but in all honesty, I've gotten past the point where I consider it "funny" that these lights/fast movers can't take damage. It's a game breaker, and has been beyond the scope of PGI to correct so far.

I'm on week 4 of a 6-8 week hiatus from the game. I'm thinking I'll just keep an eye out on the patch notes, and if there's no talk of any adjustments being made to the netcode/hitbox registration, then I'll just wait til the next mention.

The Mechs in my bay are covered in spider webs at the moment. :(

Hello All,
Great work PGI so far on simulating Mech Combat. I love the gameplay, am addicted to it really, I'm involved in a vibrant Mech Corps who as lots going on, and I have even begun to spend my hard earned cash on MC.

I really love this game.

I really hate this game.

Things are getting worse stability wise. I was in the closed beta/very early open beta, and the game was more stable for me then than it is now. This last play session, I have had 3 CTD's out of 3 games played. I OFTEN have 80-100% CTD now. It seems to happen more when in groups, but the last 3 games were pugging.

This means I can't participate in any meaningful way with my merc corp, and I have put a stop on any further MC purchases until I have a stable gaming experience ( I as just about to buy another 6500MC)

Right now I hate the fact that I love this game, because it is frustrating the **** out of me trying to play it.

It's a BETA they cry!

I've played in lots of BETA's (40yo gamer here), and they get better not worse.
I also worked in technical sales in computing for 7 years, so I have done my utmost to optimise my PC to make this game work. Skyrim doesn't CTD, Path of Exile never has, and neither has Guildwars. Crysis Multiplayer works fine.

I'm actually a supporter of this game. The relationship is strained though. I'm sure many others feel the same way. Many have probably just given up, which is bad, because MWO won't be profitable on the revenue of just diehard Battletech fans.

I hope PGI will get their act together soon. In the mean time, I say vote with your wallets. Don't give them any more money until this game gets back on track. At the end of the day, that's the only say as a player you have.

True enough.

I'll spend the remaining money I've already converted into MC until that's gone, because it's already spent. But I told myself that I would not spend a penny more (even for day 1 access to a TIMBERWOLF, believe it or not), nor would I even start my 90 days of premium Founder's time until they fixed the issue with light/fast pilots being impervious to weapons that visually connect with them.

I'm in week 2 of a 6-8 week hatus from the game simply because I've been overly frustrated. PGI will implement some tech, like the 2 phases of HSR, and I was glad to hear that many people stated it helped THEM, but, as greedy as it makes me sound, I want something that'll help ME too! So the only power I have in this is to let my wallet do its talking.

MWO has tons (get it?) of potential, but when it comes to warfare simulation, if you cannot reliably damage an enemy, that breaks a fundamental part of the game (it's one thing if they couldn't hit me back either, but that's never the case). It's simply unfair; no other way to put it. For months and months these pilots have been able to tear me apart bit by bit as I put 30-60pt alphas in their faces and watch them shrug it off.

The other bugs, I can deal with them and hope that PGI takes care of them as soon as possible. But damage application is mission critical.

What is (and When will be) the next phase in network optimizations that helps to address proper hitbox and damage registration on fast moving targets, independent of their pings to the server? I've noticed a one-sided issue in registering damage against such targets (even with low ping) that seems both one-sided at not yet addressed for all clients.
