I've repeatedly watched every intro in MW history since MW2 was spankin' new but MW3 and "Big Al" resonated. The sight of a Madcat having an "oh $hit" moment is priceless.
I'd love to eventually have an Atlas but I think I'm more partial to both the Awesome and Stalker atm and I'll likely be a medium and heavy pilot for the most part (my founder mech is a Catapult). What this rambling a.d.d. post is getting at is that I'm more excited to fight against an Atlas than to pilot one.

A Cicada, however, can turn around fast enough to have a chance of hitting me and can then chase after me with a reasonable chance of keeping up at least long enough to chew me up some, possibly long enough to take me out. That is not under my control so it worries me.
Depending on the kind of scout you're running it would almost be worth your while to stand and fight, running from a Cicada allows the pilot to feel like the predator he thinks he is and exposing paper thin rear armor. Nothing surprises the lion more than when the buffalo says "No".
Besides, a heavily modified Trebuchet or Centurion could probably be made agile enough to hunt light mechs nearly as effectively as the Cicada and kill them far more quickly.

Check out Mechcommander Omnitech. http://www.moddb.com...mander-omnitech It's a severely modded version of Mechcommander 2. Completely legally free. I played through it a little while back having played through the original release a couple times I can say that it is a major improvement.
Having said that, I just bought a new PC and it runs Windows 7 64 and my computer refuses to play the original MC2 or MWO.
Any suggestions would be nice...

Really? As a scout, I find the Cicada more ominous than an Atlas. Cicada or maybe even Hunchback. The Cicada would a good scout hunter/killer. The Hunchback could be good scout protection: not enough speed to hunt them down but enough speed and heavy punch to make the scout worry about the run part of hit & run.
Cicada is indeed -nearly- as ominous as an Atlas. The Cicada deserves great respect from lighter mechs but the alphastrike of an Atlas is insta-death. It has to be feared despite it's drunken tree slug pace. My post was in favor of the Cicada as a scout hunter/killer if you hadn't noticed. However, I think the average lightmech still has a reasonable chance against the Cicada.

I think the Stalker has some great potential, especially from a weapons hard-point perspective, you can literally do anything with that mech (although at the of the day it will still look like a Macy's Parade float)
The Stalker seems like the most frightening thing on the field other than an Atlas for the very reason you mentioned. Even an Awesome is limited by the minimum range of it's PPCs. The Stalker will kill you at any range you choose. It is not picky.
I feel like the Zeus or Mauler are the most likely for the final pre-launch assault mech. The Charger, Hatamoto Chi, Highlander, King Crab, Banshee or Devastator would all be great though as they do not count among the Unseen.
