Mech "handicap"

Mechs that weigh less in their class (awesome) or that lack hardpoints/ECM compared to other variants shoudl apply a modifier to your elo/match value to reflect their weakness VS equivalent classed mechs.

Raven 3l vs 4
Atlas VS awesome
Dragon VS catapult.

Tons of matches within weight classes that are obviously imbalanced when it comes to gameplay. A Mech handicap or flat out Tonnage/hardpoint factored balancing would help.

There are many factors besides weight. What you really want is a system like BV that takes a tally of the 'value' of each weapon and component.

Yes, a Cataphract has more raw tonnage than a Dragon, but a Dragon with all the upgrades has a big advantage over a Cataphract stuffed with medium lasers and ac10s and single heatsinks.
