If no one can see it but you? I picked out some killer names for my Mechs, and would like to see the names other people have chosen for there mechs...But sadly, when in-game, the only thing shown is the variant.

Since you can't change them, I'm rather glad nobody can see my typos :D

I always thought it was to help keep track of the mechs in your garage. But I named my three stalkers and found that it just confused things because I can't tell quickly what varient they are. I don't change the names anymore.

Considering I'm not exactly awash in C-Bills, I find naming them to be pointless regardless. What's the point in naming a mech "Gausscat" for example when you may end up changing the loadout on the K2 to something else, and thus making the name woefully inaccurate? I swap engines around, so I certainly don't have enough C-Bills for multiples of the same variant.

Guess just fluff at the moment. Seem to remember reading that names will be changeable in the future. Whether they will be displayed or not, dunno. I imagine it would take yet more filters so people don't come up with potentially offensive mech names.

I don't name my Mechs at all. I prefer that they simply be named by their variant. This is especially helpful if I go back and forth between two variants of the same chassis. For instance, I tend to alternate a little between my AS7-D-DC and my AS7-RS. If they weren't named as such then I might forget that I named my D-DC Snugglebunny or something.

I cannot wait until the names of mechs becomes public so I can have the names of my mechs forcibly changed as well.

So I can see that my garage is occupied with a happy kitten, an angry kitten, a love bucket, a **** bucket, and the bass cannon.

I just remember my variants by obvious features, like different sized missile pods on the cats, or by paint job, so the names are just for fun.

The calling of my TBT-5N JACK (or the renaming... when I bought the mech I had forgotten I had already decided on a name) is quite suitable due to it being a slight jack of all trades. An ALRM 15 for long distance and closing of the gap. Three Medium lasers once at mid range and at short range, which is where I close off with a ASRM 6. What's more, I got the little Elf Commando bobble head in it, which just seems so suited :)

I named my Pretty Baby Violet. Imagine my shock when I was searching for an appropriate name for her. Like, I was searching for a name for a giant robot, what is this movie that you are showing me?! :)

Always a fun game naming your mechs.

It's really just for personal flair. I really like giving my mechs silly names. I've got a 4SP called BRAWLSTORM and the crazy laser hunchback(4p?) called BOATIMUS MAX. I, err...ran out of space for MAXIMUS >_>

Definitely need more space for mech names...at least like twenty-four characters or something.

I'm hoping we can eventually rename them if only because it's hard to name something so customizable until you know exactly what you plan to do with it.

My Founder's Hunch will definitely be "Tiro Finale" should that day ever come.

Naming them seems to have a little more purpose once you have over 30+ BattleMechs sitting In you're garage.

'can't name them ALLL PoLaR Junior..

Edit: It's been said that around May or June, we will be able to re-arrange our 'Mechs and rename them.
