Splatterbug,
Notice how pretty much EVERYONE is disagreeing with you?

Fact is PGI made it pretty clear that open beta was the end of any resets.
It's unfortunate that you obviously missed the memo but to throw a fit over it and try to argue with so many people really just makes you seem foolish.

Chalk this up as a lesson learned and let it go.

I have let it go; asking about it was the point of the initial statement. I'm just responding to everyone until I finally get to the bottom.

I did. They wouldn't. I got a bit of lip just for asking. Hence, I was pissed and posted this thread.

Yeah, that part I don't like so much.

How does any of that stop you from reading Patch Notes? Patch notes which aren't buried in '50 million' forums threads.

Wasn't on the Open Beta launcher; I am 90% sure. Noone has claime do otherwise.

Since you seem to be ignoring this question, which has been asked by others....

So you bought into the founders a few days before it went to open beta? Then how would you know about the resets?

This was covered. It was about two weeks. My memory was off.

A few days; 2 weeks.Either way, bought it but didn't get up to date on anything for over a week. There were still no new statements on the subject made; and referencing old statements wasn't a very easy topic for back-review on this poorly organized website.

I figured it out long ago. The wave has just been a fun distraction to ride as my evening stew sat on the crock pot.

After my purchase of the game, October 26th was the first notice they made of "Open Beta being the last reset". Otherwise, in that 2 week period it was not made obvious in the casual reading after purchase of the game. Otherwise, their October 26th notice said "about 18 days till Open Beta" and it was in fact 3 days.

Hence, I did not check the website/email for 3 days, I played the game, and it didn't make it obvious in the launcher or usage of MC in the interface.

Pretty simple situation. Rather absurd it's so difficult to understand.

Ingredients
 • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
 • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
 • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
 • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
 • 1 teaspoon salt
 • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
 • 2 large eggs
 • 2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Directions

 • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter with both sugars; beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low; add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed, about 1 minute. Add flour mixture; mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

 • Drop heaping tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

 • Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool on baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.

Half a cup of powdered sugar
One quarter teaspoon salt
One knife tip Turkish hash
Half a pound butter
One teaspoon vanilla-sugar
Half a pound flour
A hundred and fifty g ground nuts
A little extra powdered sugar
And no eggs
Place in a bowl
Add butter
Add the ground nuts and
Knead the dough
Form eyeball-size pieces from the dough
Roll in the powdered sugar
And say the Magic Words:
"Sim sala bim bamba sala do saladim"
Place on a greased baking pan and
Bake at two hundred degrees for fifteen minutes
And no eggs
Bake at two hundred degrees for fifteen minutes
And no eggs.

And still, if memory serves, that would not be early enough to know about the resets without some reading. So you read enough to find out about the resets but not enough to know that OB would be the last one? Sorry buddy, your fault, not PGI's. Stop blaming other people for your mistakes. I think it is pretty clear everyone else got the message.

Your mad because after the last ever reset you didn't know that we were in Open Beta for the last 4 months and spent your MC that was stated for months prior would not be reset? Okay, your mad at yourself for being ignorant and unobservant because even my casual friends who logged in maybe once a month back then asked me what Open Beta meant for their MC. :D

If I had actually paid for an "Open Beta" or a product as buggy as this I bought at a store, I would be furious.

Odds of me ever spending 1 cent on this buggy, beta game just got lower . . .

I was warned for months before I bought the game to be warned?

You people are sooooo lost in your own assumptions and disconnected from the facts.. it's funny how you make such statements thinking they are so finite just because you typed them.

I was not warned for months as I was not warnable for months; nor were the references to said warnings obvious or made available int he span of time I could have assimilated them. As stated, the only pertinent NEW warning was since my purchase was made on October 26th; with the "last reset" in question being on October 29. On November 2nd, I played the game w/o reading the website or potential email (My archives don't show it. They'd show it even if deleted. Never came to me.)

Facts just get in the way of people opinions.

Get's us back to their emails.

Those are a reliable source of relevant info eversince and not, as you say, spam. It basically is their newsfeed minus the ISN stuff mailed to you for your convenience. Read their mails and you will never miss any patchnotes, info regarding upcoming changes, sales event, ingame event EVER. It is that simple.

But you seem to have forgotten or overlooked yourself that this isn't even your point.

Your point is: I missed the info for whatever reason (it really doesn't matter, the info was available, not getting it is failure of your end, which to remind you you admitted to yourself a few pages ago), I wondered why there was no more MC reset after FOUR months. They inform me I was informed. I want a refund. They won't give it to me. So I conclude they scammed me.

Are we clear now what's your point? If so could we please take a breath move on and try to understand that denying you that refund is not a scam at all. It can be seen as bad customer care. Which as I tried to get across numerous times depends on how you approached them regarding the refund of those MC.

From what I gathered I imagine the dialog went like this:

You emailed PGI support: "Hey folks. I've noticed my MC weren't reset in quite some time now. I'd really like to spend them on some of those new Hero Mechs to play around with. What's up? When's the next reset coming?"

They answered: "Resets stopped with Open beta. You were notified of that."

You: "No you didn't."

They: "Yes we did. We sent an email on [insert date as I am confused]."

You: "I do not read your spam."

They: "It was on the forums and launcher news feed aswell as in the patchnotes."

You: "Your forum's a mess. The news feed is a bugged mess. I don't want to read patchnotes I want to play the game. And now I want those MCs back as you failed to inform me."

They: "Haha. That was a good one."

I underlined the part in that conversation that lead to the undesired outcome. Blaming your faults on others is a fail way to get what you want.

I never received an email.

I spoke in assumption that it arrived for the sake of brevity when describing the timing they supplied while discussing the topic of their intent.

I got the word about the lack or resets after OB.. I was in AFGHANISTAN. If I could keep up with a game I was interested from there and you could not manage it from the comfort of your own home, then you are probably not cut out for internet gaming.

So you admit they informed you then, so where is the problem?

No. Read up on the rest of what was already stated multiple times and keep a keen eye out for the chronological order of events.

For example, not everyone was registered on the website on day one.

So they blitzed a trick in there to scam their trusting founders (I bought the biggest one) into not noticing their fine print they obscurely "informed us" about. So anyone playing randomly casually and not being some uber-fanboy checking the website daily had a 3-day login window to even have a chance at noticing their MC wouldn't reset.. after they were used to logging in and having resets on occassion. No login notification of this fact.

So, you were in Closed Beta and didn't frequent the forums or website.

So you were, infact, not beta-testing their product at all, since you weren't providing any feedback or even making yourself aware of changes they were implementing.

You can make all the arguments you like about what the beta situation is now, but Closed Beta was clearly a closed beta. Ergo you were not fulfilling you end of the 'beta tester' deal.

How did you know about resets?

One had just happened to me (the last one, apparently) and someone else mentioned about them when I asked. Unfortunately, they were probably not fully aware, either. They didn't tell me the one that just happened was the last one.

Hence, my assumption it happened to more people. Perhaps it did, but they all quit and we only have the rest of the people who are hardcore players left.
