Well the TBT and the Cent are sort of family. I want to see the exterminator and some of the star league era stuff brought to life. I think they are doing a great job with the art.

The King Crab? Seriously? The most butt fugly mech in the entire Battletech universe?

You should be punished for such blasphemy :(

Of course we need more walker-pods and most of all, the King Crab. It will add style, beauty and even something new to gameplay as it is mostly a ballistics platform.

I admit, it'd be cool to have some crazy variety in mech chassis, something like the king crab or similar mechs. I still pee my pants when I run into a stalker, but as far as humanoids go, they are a bit overused. It's kind of bland at this point. I run CN9-D exclusively in my 8 man drops, but I just want to see some variety out there.

I don't get it, given a humanoid is not a race.

Remove any quads, because they are just too darn hard to implement

I don't buy this

Dev's can make an entire game but 4-legged mechs are 'too difficult'?

Why?

Think about what happens when a mech walks up hill, your "pilot view camera" stays level with the ground. You can't do that in a 4 legged mech, it would topple over. This means an entirely new set of camera code for one class of mech. This means more potential integration and programming issues, plus new mech code to "tilt" the mech body as it walks up hill.

You're also talking about a mech that has much more mobility than a two legged variety. You don't have a trackball option for leg controls, just WASD which means at most you would be able to do 8-way movement. Plus there is all the hitbox stuff to work out having two extra legs. The HUDs are all wrong as well.

It's only software, it is possible. When you hear "It is too difficult" in software development it typically means "It is way too resource intensive to develop for the current development plan, and it is not worth deviating from the plan at this time." In other words, there is so much they CAN add within the boundaries of the current engine they have developed, quad mechs are just not on the radar right now.

Sure it's a few years in the future, but maybe we could get the Bushwacker? There's a cool looking mech, and it's 55 tons too - a currently unused weight.
