Yeah, burn out is a big problem.

Some may call this a full game but when you consider the vision for it, it's really the skeletal system for a game. And it's hard to wait that long.

its called "minimum viable product" and now that Ive learned that lesson if I ever see that term in a game again Ill jump ship then. Before burning $120 on iy

I'd say that I've reached a more comfortable point. I was totally addicted for awhile and did nothing else, thought about it at work and really had no other interests. Lately, I still enjoy it a lot, but don't always want to play. Burned out? No, just mellowed.

I know what it is for me currently; that I have to pay $30 for another mc bundle (for one mech) or grind 12 million isk er I mean cbills to get two more atlasses to open the mid range of pilot tree. Thats a task that limits me to like a game or two a day cause once I realize that I turn off the game and play borderlands 2 or farcry 3 or skyrim till I forget about the grind I have and want to play a match again

maybe ill make an alt account to get that cbil bump you get to start with just to play in the mechs I want.

You should try just playing and enjoying the game. The money will come when you're not paying attention. If you don't enjoy playing, why the hell do you even care about increasing the size of your stable or mastering mechs?

I won't be playing again until the match maker is fixed and I am not seeing 400ton swings on teams.

Also not interested in playing because I'm tired of getting on teams with and without premades.

One way is a pug stomp. The other way you get stomped. ELO hasn't fixed anything because of how bad the MM is now.

Until I can hop on, play a few even games without having to jump on team speak. I won't be interested.
This game is not casual friendly.

At the very least MM needs to allow only two people in a group. Seeing as how there are only 8 mans. Its so easy to say "we are a premade support us /win" Its boring, and not fun, and completely one sided depending on which team you are on.

They need to drop premades or insure when a game starts there is either a premade on either side. Or no premade on either side. + the massive weight swings needs to go.

when that is fixed, I'll play again. Or when they launch the clans.

Matchmaking has been working great for me. A lot more close fights. Remember ELO gets more accurate the more you play. If you're not playing you're going to keep getting bad matches when you play once in a while. You start with a high baseline. If that's too high for you, then successive losses will put you down at a more appropriate level.

Same old maps over and over again make for a frustrating experience. Only played once this week for a rhod match and got forest colony 4 times in a row. Lack of endgame, maps or new mechs makes this game stale after a while, I now only play for competitive matches and probably won't keep that up for long either (arma 3 alpha soon).

It's also much easier to burn out on a beta than a finished product. :)

At this rate they will never be finished and the game will be "beta" forever.

Almost every other f2p game I see seems to develop faster than MWO is. I just hope this game gets to a finished state sooner than later since if I were to play this game today as a new player I probably wouldn't be to impressed.

When i feel bored with it, I'll take a break till the next patch or so in order to have a bit mroe content to see/play with.

The problem with this game is that there's not enough content, and there's not enough variety in play (ie modes or strategies), so it IS easy to get burned out on it.

^ This ....

Initially 4 maps at launch of OB was not too bright, but, I don't call the shots. Night versions were NOT new maps, they were the same 'ol with the lights turned off.....and then Alpine, which is great... for 12v12 .......

Most FPS games have 10-15 maps at this stage.

Thanks for all the replies guys, good to know I'm not alone. Maybe a few more patches in and I'll jump back in. I am running with a group, but I DEFINITELY don't like playing when they aren't online. Pugging in this game is worse than on StarCraft II, and I refuse to do that even then. At least in SC2 you can carry bad team mates sometimes.

Yes

One key sign that I am burning out is when I get leap past frustration with game elements to fully pissed off.

When this happens I stop playing for two to three days and do some thing else.

Like play other games, go see a move, spend more time reading, and walk more often around my city.

I have varied my routine a lot with these types of things so I am burning out less.

Too many, take a break, go do something else posts. We are trying to make a point. PGI should've had more content by the time Open Beta rolled around. There still isn't enough content and it's not being released nearly fast enough for many of us that are burned out. I'm hopeful though with some things coming down the pipe, and hopefully even this month we will have something significant. But those of us that are saying we are burned out are making a point...you who are saying take a break make no point to PGI except that it is o.k. to Open Beta a game that is not ready, and it's o.k. to release content at a snail's pace.

Maybe the devs are experiencing burnout themselves.
