Doing Lobby Properly

Lobby is near and as much as I relish that fact, that much I fear it's going to be half arsed like the matchmaker.

Here's a few things I think shouldn't be left out.
  • Lobby should be persistent unless all players leave.
  • Lobby should allow map voting before pressing the "ready" button, and disable map voting after 50% players are readied.
  • Lobby should allow map rotation set by the owner.
  • Lobby should allow for consecutive drops, meaning it automatically starts a countdown as soon as all players are back in mechlab.(rather than loading straight out of the game, releasing resources etc.) That countdown can always be interrupted.
  • Lobby should be accessible ingame and mapvoting should be enabled ingame.
  • Players should be able to create lobbies for both sides 16 people, not just 8 people.
  • Lobby hosts should be able to ban unwanted players from their lobbies.
  • Ban list should be persistent through all lobbies the player makes.

Sounds good so far.
A good chat would also be needed also an option to write short comments that can bee seen from outside the lobby.

"500 tons 2/3/2/1 no arty" for example.
