I have faith in the mods. They are generally trying to just do their jobs. I would hope they escalate it enough to give it a fair evaluation.

Sure, whatever it takes to get these threads at least seen instead of thrown away into a void of a forum. Dunno what the moderators fear about people talking about community run events.
