The problem with mice these days is that a lot of them are overloaded with too many buttons and all-too-often they are in bad locations for different users and their weights are deceptive. If you can, get some hands-on experience with different mice (at stores or friends/family) or at the very least use your previous/existing mouse to quantify what you liked and didn't like.

I would say that this is true for many gaming mice, but the G700 is an exception to button placement. The buttons are actually well placed, and better than the Naga, I'd say. It's also easily identifiable to which mouse button you are pressing since each mouse button is shaped differently.

The Corsair mice are absolutely fantastic - friend of mine has the M90 and it's beautiful.

I recently got this one: The Mionix Naos 5000 (http://www.mionix.ne...php?al=naos5000)

It feels great, comes with adjustable weights, braided cable and feels very solid. The macro software is awesome too, and it's got customisable LEDs so you can fit it with whatever colour theme you like.

I would suggest a a trackball, no need for a mouse pad and is more accurate (in my opinion). I use a Logitech M570 wireless trackball. Not expensive and fits the hand nicely, though it does take some getting used to.

OP, you'll note the plethora of G500/G700 recommendations, so let me toss in another.

I think you should get the G500. Basically, it's the G700, only the wireless has been removed and replaced with a customizable weight kit (so you can set how heavy the mouse is), and it's cheaper. Other than that they're the same mouse.

It fits squarely into your price range at $58

The mouse has a peerless sensor, as I've seen reviewers note, the ergonomics are great, there are more than enough buttons to go around, and I'll be honest, now that I have the switchable clicky/smooth scroll, I use it every single day and love it (former for gaming, latter for scrolling through documents and web pages).

I wouldn't call it the same mouse. G5 and G500 is more the same mouse.

G700 is fairly different. The laser sensor is the only thing that's the same. But everything else? Different in feel, including ergonomics. It still has the ratcheting mouse toggle on both, but even the toggle switch is placed somewhere else. Materials and buttons are very different as well, as well as number of buttons.

But either one is good. Only get the G700 if you need MORE buttons or a wireless capability. Otherwise, G500 is best.

I am not a fan of wireless mouses myself, you always run out of juice at the worst possible moments, beside that I like my mouse simple and clean I got a keyboard with keys if I need keys, sure I don't need them on my mouse for any game I play.

Anyhow I would toss in a bet for the G500 I got the G5 myself and no plans to replace it unless it breaks down (and I like how heavy you can make it) beside logitech knows how to make mice, they made more than a billion of them :(

Not really a problem since it can be used wired or wireless. Out of juice? Put it back to wired. Need some cord freedom? Make sure it's charged and take it off. Doesn't have a proprietary battery, so it's easily replaceable.

Morquedeas, Hello. Just out of curiosity why are you not interested in a wireless mouse? I used to think they suck but then again I'm 31 and was around when they first came out and the battery life did suck. However battery life is much better now and mice that come with a charging cradle are worth looking into, IMO.

I have had some good feedback on the Logitech MX 1000 series. Long battery life. I purchased the Logitech MX Revolution with they first came out 4-5 years ago and I still use it for gaming on my desktop computer and I have not had to change out the battery yet! The battery lasts 3-4 days of moderate daily usage (3-5 hours gaming daily) before it needs to be charged.

If you get one that comes with a cradle then problem solved. No need to worry about cords or batteries.
