Out of the 20+ matches I've played since the patch, all but two ended with 7-8 mechs alive on the winning side. Of those that ended by capture, there were only 1-2 mechs alive on the losing side (except for one straight cap race that was over in four minutes).
This has been happening ever since elo was launched. It's boring for one team to be so badly outmatched by the other that they are wiped out almost without a fight.
Even if the win/loss ratio is around even (and I don't think it is, since the patch, though it was before), it doesn't matter. The games are no longer entertaining.
From what I've seen, a large part of the problem rests with gangs of Raven 3Ls (and the occasional Commando) with ECM and SSRMs. Recent changes have made dealing with them slightly easier, but their ability to lock on while denying everyone around them the same "privilege" is still unaffected. The Ravens especially still seem to be invincible, invulnerable angels of death, that can only be killed by catching one alone, in the open or stuck against scenery; or by ganging up on them with an even larger unkindness of ECM-cheese. I want no part of a game where the only way to win is to out-cheese the opposition, and look forward to PGI's eventual fix to stop their nonsense forever. I don't like it when my team wins because of it, and I certainly don't like being subjected to it.
Most of the rest of the problem seems to be down to communication. A group of four heavy/assault mechs will show up and kill the opposing team one by one. I have nothing against 4-man teams being put up against all-pug teams (often enough I'm one of the four), but the matchmaker has to take their team coordination into account when building matches. A working team of four people, each with an elo of X, is a vastly superior group to four lone wolves each with an elo of X, but the matchmaker seems to count them as identical, again making for a boring game for both sides.
Please, PGI, do something about this! I'm not asking to win all the time. All I want is for most of the matches to be hard, exciting fights where all the participants can say they enjoyed themselves. With the old matchmaking system they happened quite often, especially before ECM was introduced. Now, however, such matches appear once or twice a day at best; the rest of them are either boring massacres where the targets all fall like flies (and I don't have the right personality to enjoy repeatedly humiliating an opponent that can't fight back, unlike the impression I get of the average 3L pilot), or boring massacres where I turn a corner, discover four or five almost-pristine enemy mechs, and call for backup only to find that almost all of my team has already been wiped out.
Please make the game fun again.
EDIT: subsequent games, playing in a 3-man TeamSpeak group:
2-8 (win, 4 D-DCs on our side, 2 on theirs)
8-1 (loss, 4 D-DCs on their side, none on ours)
2-8 (win, no ECM either side)
0-8 (win, 2 3Ls on our side, 2 D-DCs on theirs)
1-8 (win, 1 3L and 1 D-DC each)
8-3 (loss, 1 D-DC on their side, none on ours)
5-8 (win, 2 D-DCs on our side (but one wandered off for a while), none on theirs; very tense game!)
8-1 (loss, 1 D-DC each, 1 3L & 1 COM-2D on their side)
...a handful of wins to make up for the string of losses earlier, but still very one-sided bar one. Also, generally the side with the most ECM wins.
