I don't know who the **** you know but they are really good at ******* away money.

Maybe they should take some financial responsibility classes.

Five million dollars is about how much they got from founders purchases alone.

Office space, Internet access (not your standard DSL Rates) Server hardware, work stations, power bill, waste disposal, water, payroll, payroll taxes, employee health insurance, Does Canada have provincial taxes like we have state taxes?, Income taxes, ping pong table, coffee filters, asset insurance, legal services...

want to know more?

I bet with 50 employees, $5 million (adjusted to Canadian rates) is barely one year of operating costs.

welll for starters (accoridng to the pax pannel) a map takes 200k to make. a mech takes 60k. and i'm assumign thats converted from hours and paycheck of artists/programers.

right now we have 5 maps and 16 mechs. that makes 1mill + 1mil = 2 mil spent so far. not including
office/internet/development softwar/hardware/features/interface/salary of other employes/moeny to the publisher etc etc.

I love how people throw that $5mil figure around like it's a lot of money. Cracks me up. But when you're weekly allowance is $20, I guess it would seem like a lot of money.

See, look at this. They can't even use forum software which allows you to paste into an editbox without junking up the whole thing with a ton of HTML. No, it was not rich text: it was from NOTEPAD. Nice job, clearly we are in good hands.

I guess five million dollars isn't a lot when you're too stupid to spend it appropriately.

I am just saying I like the buiness model. Whatever keeps this game on my computer screen for the foreseeable future works. It is just an advance purchase for something that we will all be able to get in a few weeks anyways.

Well, my apologies my dear sir. I may have been headshotted by my own mech. I too would have no problem with that particular release model. Only EA have the technology at the moment to force people to pay for things.

I'd like to point out though that they havent explicitly stated they are releasing that glorious pink monstrosity before the generic ones. Conjecture and all that.

Well, theirs no "employee health insurance" since thats pretty much given to you as a citizen. So instead, we usually just get dental. Don't worry, thats still mad expensive.

I didn't buy a founders package, but I am pretty sure they were explicit that the founders payments allowed them to start a bunch of dumb side projects.

Listen very carefully to what I am about to explain to you.

1. On no other forum, ever, have I had this happen. IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS FORUM. It is not a matter of learning to post.

http://data.typerace...=precariousgray

I am also one of the fastest typists to have ever lived, by the numbers; not to mention that whole having mastered the English language thing. You're quite literally have no space to talk.

LEARN TO COGNIZE WITH ANY DEGREE OR SEMBLANCE OF ADEQUACY WHATSOEVER.

Or I suppose you could reduce your cognitive dissonance via the meager assertion I utilized capital letters in so succinctly, summarily decimating your insolvent proposition. Kids these days, sheesh.

2. http://en.wikipedia....verty_threshold -- sorry, but decades of economic research and graduate degrees and accomplished human beings (read: not you) disagree, and 30,000 is a living wage. You are wrong, again.

3. I'm not going to bother clicking the link, since it is clearly irrelevant and offered up as some pitifully self-centered, narcissistic attempt to protect your effete, delicately contrived sense of self.

I am more intelligent than you. Deal with it.

Aww, did I step on your wittle peelings with the harsh reality of what it actually takes to run a business? There's a ton of other costs I left out for brevity, but I'd be happy to list them for you if you like.
