I have now been piloting the Cicada now for about a week (since i bought the x-5) and i love the mech itself, very vast and agile with the draw back of less firepower than other mediums. i love that there is more armor than a light can carry so that i don't feel as squishy.

HOWEVER, all of this is moot because ONE raven launching streaks at me will almost always consistently CORE me out before i get a chance to bring my lasers to bear. streaks are only hitting my CENTER TORSO and nothing else, making all the other armor i have meaningless.

i wonder if this is a problem with the streak missile system or a problem with the cicada hot boxing?please PGI hear my prayer, the cicada is an amazing mech that needs to be fixed.

Yeah, Cicadas are way too big, and have a huge CT.
Mediums in general are kinda underpowered, and would benefit from size reduction.

Yes, the CT on the Cicada is big, and the mech itself is bigger than it should be, but you need to learn to compensate for these things. Torso twist to take damage on your arms, etc. Many people have great success with the Cicada.

The size of Cicada is completely ******** in my honest opinion. It's only 5 tons heavier than a Jenner but almost twice the size.

To add insult to injury the CT is simply huge and can be hit from the sides easily.

SSRMs and LRMs also hunt down center torso insanely good. The SSRM nerf is helpful, but remember that Ravens legs are huge, shoot for them, and run back to teammates.

Agreed. I've experienced this often. The CT is way too big along with the rest of the Cicada.

I've put my beloved X-5 on ice. IMO, I would avoid purchasing it until something is done to fix the cicada overall.

SSRMs can't hit anything but CT as far as I know. It is not an issue with Cicada's hitbox.

It's a known problem with tracking missiles, and why they toned the damage down so much. They tried just taking splash out, and saw missiles were coring people left and right. Hence the current hotfix. Hopefully, they'll have the code fixed by the next patch so that missiles actually spread out a bit more.

While this isn't true, it does feel like it. Lock-on guided weapons seek the CT. So long as the target isn't moving or twisting they will hit it.

Naw I think they are really honestly broken. Any angle I get hit from SSRMs hit me in the center front, even when facing away, and the rest of me is yellow when I die (splash on a Jenner probably).

I ran a CDA-2B for a little while, and it does seem a tad large being a 40 ton Mech.
If the mech was scaled smaller, it would help with the comparatively large CT to the rest of the mech.

I recall being in a few duels with other Cicadas and it was easier focusing on the center torso over any other area, and torso twisting can only do so much against experienced pilots. Cicadas seem to get cored most of the time, I know I was cored most of the time running the 2B.

Also, SSRM lock-on to CT is another issue altogether too. At any rate, I really hope the SSRMs keep the lower damage value of 0.70 per missile if SRMs and LRMs are adjusted up in the future, it's still a deadly system with that damage value.

I love my cicadas, I prefer my 2a as it is really a blast, but am mainly piloting the 3M for obvious (team) reasons.
I have noticed since the last patch that I am getting cored more than before. It could be fluke, but I find that my stubs of arms really dont soak much damage any more, and most things seems to hit CT.

I don't feel it is a SSRM issue, but more like CT might be too big and arms too small.

Regarding the Cicada size in general, it is a medium mech I can't really object to it being bigger than a Jenner. I am a medium 'Mech albeight on the light scale, but we should be bigger than the lights, otherwise what is the purpose of lights?
