Hi all you fellow purple people,

I am interesting in seeing what the spectrum of our real-world beliefs are. It would be neat to see people of all corners of Marik contributing to this poll. Please be honest, please no discriminatory comments, as everyone has a right to have a belief, and besides, religious discrimination is against the rules of the forum. Also, if I have left anything out, please notify me and I will put another poll option in (bear in mind there are only 20 options per question).

Thanks =)

It lets me pick Atheism and Catholicism (among other combinations) at the same time. See the issue there? :)

Well it comes back to the honesty thing. I'm only a newbie and this is the first poll I've made, if you would be able to help me figure out how to make it a one-option-only poll, I'd appreciate it

I'm a believer 51% of the time, agnostic 48% of the time, and atheist 1% of the time. Poll is working as real life...

you should merge catholic and christian. because catholics are christians. as are orthodox, kopts, anglicans, lutherian reformed, protestant or other deviants. ;-)

with islam, you also do not differ between sunna and shia.

Good so far, but I hope everybody knows "Pastafari" is just a Parody of Religion ... It is not a real Religion :)

Someone asked for it, so I put it in. Even though it is a parody religion, you can never be too sure that all people treat it that way... About 4 years ago when we had the Census in my country (New Zealand), there was a big group of people who put "Jedi" as their religion. You can never be too certain that people will treat a parody religion like such, in case you do offend the people that do take it seriously.

Edit: It was 12 years ago in New Zealand when Jedi became the second most popular religion in New Zealand, Statistics New Zealand treated the Jedi response as "Answer understood, but it will not be counted".

Polytheism isn't actually a religion either, rather it is a descriptive characteristic applied to some religions. Literally, it just means ‘belief in many gods’ as opposed to monotheism, which is the belief in only one god, or atheism, which is the belief in no gods at all.

By Kopt, do you mean the Coptic Christians that are found in the Middle East (ie. Egypt, for instance)?

I think so. But yeah that can also come under the "Christianity" option

I believe you'll have a hard time PROVING that Pastafirianism isn't a "real religion." It meets the accepted criteria for defining a religion, vague and nebulous though they may be.

In Fact, Pastafarianism is dead... It's God was accidentally eaten an Evening last Week by a 5 Year old Girl...

Prove that I am wrong :P

Things like this can happen if you are invisible, undetectable but nevertheless tasty :P or hanging around with tasty Spaghetti's ^^

Of Course I hope I didn't harm your religious Beliefs :D

About that Jedi Beliefs in New Zealand : That is another Thing - at least semi-serious as Star Wars is somewhat based on "The seven Samurai". In the Star Wars Movies this Kind of Belief is treated seriously and People were really impressed by that Idea of the Power and old Concepts in a new SciFi like Style.Of Course it was just designed to present the Movies. It was not designed to become a real Religion. If People take up that Idea it is up to them but they can find the same Concepts also in already existing Religions.

George Lucas was influenced by those old Concepts of Faith while designing this Jedi "Religion" for his Movies.

So I would see this Jedi Movement in another Way than Pastafarianism ... At least its Intention was somewhat serious while Pastafarianism is simply a Way to protest against Intelligent Design. It doesn't take itself serious and therefore is simply Waste.
