Many people have brought it up, and the general consensus seems to be that it's a good thing, and they're glad PGI can make money without resorting to selling power.

The thing is we already expected not to get the Highlander until April 16 anyway, so this really is just a bonus for those who don't mind paying. I think its not a bad idea as long as its only 2 weeks, I can go that long without a Highlander anyway (gotta save up them CBills after finishing up the Jagermech this past weekend)

They have to make money somehow, I don't see how this is bad. If you don't want to buy the highlander, don't buy it until it's released for c-bills.

Good or bad as it may be. I am happy that later this month the new Highlanders will come out. Due to the target practice that the pink guys have had over these last few days, now I know exactly where and how to shoot.
Hint: XL engines equal..... Side Torso death. Hammer the right side and it will explode. The sound it makes when it dies is the last riff of a guitar. Wait... that would be awesome!
Can't find a good sound to upload but for no reason I found this the play when the Urbanmech finally makes an appearance.
Enjoy.

The Dollars for funding MWO have to come from somewhere and this sneak peak, prestige selling of a balanced Hero Mech feels good for me. Rather this than selling p2w gold ammo or similar.
Someone has to pay the Dollars and this is optionality to the max. Thumbs up, PGI, keep going like this!

I'm surprised no one has brought this up. How does everyone feel about PGI holding back the release of the Highlander (which is obviously modeled, animated, skinned, et al.)? Does this smell of an attempt to get more people to purchase the hero, since they'll be the only highlanders out there for a while?
I'm surprised as well. People are normally way quicker with these Ifeel scammed/ripped off/entitlement threads.
