My 1X uses the largest XL and 5LL. I know it sounds like a death trap but I have done some amazing matches in it. I was blown away at how good it turned out and sad that it was my last phract to buy. If you ever have the cbills lying around I recommed trying it.

I like the 1X: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...19502cf4fb7289e

(Yes, I removed almost all head armor since the cockpit is almost impossible to hit on the ctf)

CTF-3D Poptart or CTF-1X Laser boat

There is no point using a 1X for a build that the 3D can exactly replicate.

Most of the time you need XLs in Cataphracts, 300 and 280 are the most used and many builds would never been doable without these.. and still it's safer to place such a kind of engine in a Phract rather than into a Jager.

Putting an XL into a Jager is an exceedingly bad idea. I already aim for the side torso's to halve their firepower. If they blow up after one even better. At least the huge CT of the Phract would hide an XL a tad. Not as much as a Cat or Dragon though.

If you have the money: 3D. Just because Jump Jets are fun.

For brawling, I love this CTF-1X. They have to burrow through the CT to kill you. Don't let them. You also have so much ammo for AC20 that you can pop off some very low probability 900m shots on Tourmaline.

2x: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9e2154d7c7541d2

A few guys in our group play this and we refer to it as the reliable Cataphrat. :)

Oddly enough, I found it the easiest of them by far. I was never terribly good with the pop-tart build, turned him into a LL speed demon. And my 4x took 5 different load outs till I found success with dual-gauss.

PS: 320 engine instead of a 325 as I already owned one from buying a Awesome-9M...

Your third Cataphract should be the Caesar Prototype. Take the Record Sheet Challenge™.

CTF-1X Caesar Prototype

And here is the record sheet

3D can jump, and run the same load out. Much more flexible. 1X is not worth it.
