Never, ever ever ever, ever ever ever ever, ever ever has it been said you'd need to pay MC to participate in CW matches.
It WAS said that we've LOOKED AT having an MC cost to CREATE private match servers.

Using this logic they could charge 250,000 GXP for a consumable and it would be OK. Also you are forgetting a HUGE part of the C-Bill consumable problem. You lose in game currency for using it. You get taxed. Just wait until there are more consumables. Are you really okay with having to lose you entire c-bill payout and THEN SOME, just to match somebody who is paying with MC? What will you do when your C-Bills run out?
THAT is the part that makes it pay to win.
The rest of their monetization model i enjoy. Even the steep MC rates is fine by me as long as it never turns into a subscription system. But it just really seems there has not been a lot of foresight into the c-bill players who would just be turned off before they ever buy their first mech bay. You'll never be able to afford another mech if you keep having to pay C-Bills for consumables.
Please for the sake of gaming and hell, INTELLIGENT discourse, please please stop using hyperbole as statement of fact.
Who, besides you, would say that 250,000 would be ok? Let's use "your logic" but to the other extreme.....Even if they only charged 1 GXP/C-bill whatever for consumable ( in addition to having and MC option] would that be a crying offense? If not, then exactly where are the high and the low ends of "acceptable" cost?
There are only two possilbe outcomes to that question.
1. Any person (not you) that is unhappy with the current situation, should have a set price in mind that is "acceptable" . From this we can conclude that they just _ differ_ in opinion from PGI (as well as any other player that is ok with said price) decides is a fair cost. And therefore any hyperbolic ranting is not justified. Gamers just often disagree with developers.
2. Any person (not you) that feels that any price for a consumable that has to compete with MC purchases is unreasonable and therefor the whole MC for Consumable mechanism should be scrapped. From this we can conclude that this person (not you) is indeed insane and should seek professional help before posting here again.

Hey, internet loser with big e-peen that no one outside your sad little circle cares about.....you don't even know me.
Beside, I don't really care one way or the other. I don't use the consumables for MC or C-Bills. I NEVER said PGI was good, right or just in this. I just simply stated that YOU cannot disagree with them apparently without foaming at the mouth with opinion stated as fact.

LOL. So the method is great when YOU need to feed your family, but **** anyone else that tries to push that in the game *you* play for relaxation? Oh ho ho...that is rich, little man.

Again....based on what? Where are your facts? Where did you pull this DATA from? I have not seen your polling numbers apologize. I have more C-bills than I know what to do with and I haven't even activated my premium account status from Founders. I make average, say 150k per match, depending on role. Even if I purchased an air strike and artillery strike ...I'd still have almost half of my money left over from each round. Now, granted...when you are saving up for a mech....ever C-bill counts.
But what about end game, when I have all the mechs I want? What do I do with my money? Yeah, there will be MORE and MORE "consumable" type items. So what? This is a GOOD thing. More things in game for people to do. More ways for PGI to make money.
Jesus. As a developer (I assume you are developer and not just the janitor who works for one) you realize with no money....no MW.

The biggest mistake is making the bonus from premium time NOT large enough to cover the cost of consumables, which they could and simply do away with MC for consumables.
Ok, so again....you do or do not have a problem with charging of MC vs C-bill? Your issue is with the AMOUNT? And please, don't think I'm trolling you here. I'm not. I actually think your suggestion about MORE C-bill for PREMIUM TIME is a good suggestion to counter the issue you have concern with. I would get behind that, and actually over time, PGI may realize this is needed as well.
So, you should post is a constructive manner, just such as that. Dear PGI...Consumables are WAY too much for NON-paying customers. (again...focus on the NON part) or a BIT too much for PREMIUM accounts.
Instead.....foaming. (this part was a bit trollish)

If you are bashing PGI, I agree with you.
If you aren't bashing PGI, you probably should be.

F'ing love this. Don't agree with you, but I love your process of participating with minimal effort! This method could very well save hundreds for forum readers from going blind due to too much WALL OF TEXT

Garth, thanks for the reply. But, I very clearly stated that you guys 'considered' the scenario. Did you not see the beginning of that paragraph wherein I state the following?

So I guess if that's the one thing you want to take away from my post, then by all means. But at least have PGI meet me half-way, here. Your targeted audience conflicts with the current system. And we have not heard much in the way of the MC system modified...if at all.
Edit; I'd like to make an additional clarification. The original post provides much more reasoning on the reason why the ratio needs to be tweaked. Focusing on a semantic, or just a small detail doesn't discount the suggestion.

While I do not agree with you good sir, it would be nice if others were this honest in regards to their intention when posting.
"In regards to (current topic) PGI is stupid and deliberately ruining their own game".
Now those of that particular ilk can just copy and paste with a few small modifications.

read and understand that this is not a P2W game, nor will it ever be. Pay for Convenience is what this game is being made around. Consumables ARE NOT exclusively MC, the cbill ones ARE THE SAME.
Idiots.
You're the *****.
When you need to start giving up a % of c-bills every match for consumables, you are being bamboozled into the option of paying money to alleviate this extra grinding or being at a combat disadvantage for not using them. (MWO is already a terrible grind unless you pay)
People are quiting because they are infact the opposite of idiots for understanding this.
It could not have been clearer what the future design paradigm is.
Release the hottest map
Release coolant flush consumables
Derp
Game is overpriced.

I completely agree with you. Their FREE is just *way* too high. I have a limited budget of FREE and with all the other FREE games out there, I can only allocate a percentage of my FREE to MWO.
If they would get rid of consumables all-together I could spend more of my FREE on things like bobble-heads.
Wait....are bobble heads over powered in this game?
