been gone awhile and when I came back my arms are linked to my torso. How do I undo that I dont like that default

There is a check-box controlling that in the options / settings. By the way, you can also access those settings from within a match now!

Be sure to uncheck the Throttle Decay box as well once your in the menu. Throttle Decay and Arm Lock are two newer features that are on by default to help new players. It's easier in some regards to drive the mech like that, and they figured anyone who has played this long enough to have a preference will be able to figure out how to change it back to the way it was.

This was all announced in the 3-19 patch notes, along with a bunch of other stuff that would be in your best interest to brush up on. This game changes enough in this stage of beta, that you may want to read up for any patch notes you may have missed before jumping back in if you've taken a break.
