Clan First Contact With Aliens

So, assuming that the clans discover an isolated world of relativly peaceful aliens at a tech level below the modern earth, (think pre-indestrual 1800's), what kind of insanity can we expect?
The main options that I can see:
-The heavy "G-". Rhymes with pestocide, is evil.- Yes/no. And what sort of justification are we looking at.
-Occupation + Supression: also possible, but clear threat of the aliens adapting/ exploiting (and a narritive structure that simply BEGS for an alien "viva la revolosion!")
-Ignore: 'ehh. Not our problem."
-Peaceful relations that enrich the Clans and Alien cultures equally and bring about PEACEFULL RELATIONS WITH EVERYONE: ->wizards/magic/puppyeyes//kittens/LIES!
Are these realistic expectations? Are there other options that could be considered?
How "OK" would clans be with the total removal of a unique alien race because they "might" be a threat? What exploration have the clans done in space?
Speculate and discuss.
TL:DR: HOW SPACE MEN ACT WITH NICE ALIENS?

Battle tech's main focal point has always been conflict between men.
I can't even remembered what happened when they met the aliens.

Description
Roughly similar to the Pithecanthropus or "Upright Ape-Man" of old Terra, this is a loose grouping of many different species found across human occupied space that have stone age technology or lower.
History
The species first appeared on the world of Stein's Folly, by a injured Ardan Sortek. Ejected from his Victor while in battle with House Liao forces, he would find himself encountering a tribe of these creatures what which he simply as the "Pinks" due to their usual eyes. With a high fever, he was uncertain if had encountered them at all. He would vaguely remember these pink eyed creatures, which had a small fat body poessing pale skin where small fur hides. The tribe take him to clearing where he would be tied to a tree surrounded by human skeletons.

While various writers have occasionally forgotten this, and put in an alien tribe or two, these usually were very early on in the history of the Battletech fiction, and have either been retroactively eliminated or an alternate explanation has been advanced and made official.

True. But just because there are no aliens, doesn't mean we cant speculate about aliens. How man handles what he does not know is just as relevant as how man relates with himself.

1. What is the overall tech level of this supposed alien race? If we're dealing with an advanced spaceflight race then this ups the interest of the clans and increases the liklihood of conflict.
2. Which clan are we talking about? Coyote, Wolf, Goliath Scorpion, diamond shark and Smoke jaguar would all have wildly different responses to an alien race.
3. Where is this race? If they're even further out then Clan space or located in some incredibly difficult to reach corner of the galaxy then that influences their response.
4. Is their planet at all interesting? Not every planet (even those capable of supporting life) is worth settling much less planning an invasion of.

1. Pre-industrial. They have just begun to discover the finer points of steam and it's applications. Blimps and trains are the highest tier of current tech they have, and natural technological progression is relatively restrained, as a result of kinisthenetic low-level telekenisis being available.
2. Probably Star Adder. They make contact after "The Reaving" within the Home Clans (roughly 3085 for the uninformed)
so they've got the largest naval presence and would have the resources to discover and respond to external presence.
3. I don't understand Clan Spacial dispersion and exploration enough to give a precise answer, but I visualise it as "on the edge" in a area that the Clans have not largely explored.
4. It has what appears to be the remnants of a Golden-era Star League industrial vault.
