Sometimes (or most of the time anyways) i like to play MWO to relax at the end of the day when i don't have the willpower to do something useful.

For that matter i don't like matches which are hyper competetive, but elo currently enforces exactly that. Before elo you could have matches which are easy going, but also matches in which you are plain old stomped down.

So the solution i think, to have a relaxing big stompy robots experience is to have computer enemies, like the single player mode of MW4, which i enjoyed very much in those days.

This would also help to reduce much of the whining about OP this and that, because the computer enemies don't care. You could also run braindead stupid builds (like dual LBX) and still have fun.

Elo is broken, you're not fighting specific types of people, you're fighting them all mixed together.

It's not broken at all, currently if i don't run my most efficient mech (which is a 3PPC stalker) i almost loose every match.

I know it is. But there is no reason for it not to include a single player mode (or multiplayer against computer enemies).

I would also enjoy a co-op type mode. Ain't gonna happen, but adding AI would get a little closer to more vaired war styles, like bases defended by turrets, NPC armor and helos involved in missions. Rolling to battle with some support tanks would help my immersion.

Luckily I really don't see any of the meta issues everyone is crying about this week so I'm just having a great time with this new patch so far.

Well, since that's not going to happen. Try this (works for me)...

...when I just want to blow stuff up with out the pressure that's in the normal game, I'll pop open the training grounds and make challenges for my self. (Hit the head box at 300m while closing, take the arms off a mech without hitting the torso, hold weapons on a point while moving across a target). Yes they a stand still targets, but making it little challenges makes it fun while trying to improve as a player.

Just hire some off-shore kids and give them sub-standard mechs (these are known as "stock builds" with no DHS) and let them play against noobs.

This sounds like a troll suggestion, but really, it isn't. What if you wanted MC but you couldn't afford to purchase it? Volunteer for the "handicapped corps," where you play matches against paying players, in a gimped mech. You still have your skills but you aren't in a 4-man, you aren't in a good mech, and you are providing a service for the opponents who spend MC to play against you.

How much MC would it take for you to play a gimpy mech against people who are probably noobs, but willing to spend MC to play against you? Let's say the noobs are willing to spend 25 MC per match each. That's ten cents, or a little more than the cost of a Cool Shot 18 or an Artillery Strike. Some casual can play ten games for $1. You, on the other hand, are earning 250 MC every ten drops. If you play a lot, you can earn enough to buy any Hero mech in a couple weeks.

Getting players to be the "AI" by giving them inferior mechs would seem to be cheaper than off-shore labor and it would still be providing a PvP experience.
