See poll, vote. Share your opinions.

I would like to be able to use the scroll wheel in an assignable fashion. I would like to either use it for zoom (in/out vs. cycle) or throttle control. I can also see functions such as cycling through targets or changing weapons groups.

Changed third answer to "Abstain"

Ok guys you can used it in every function you want.. but you have to change the mapping outside of the UI.

But hell please let the mouse wheel alone because my fire group 3 and 4 are on the wheel

How do I map the wheel to scroll in and out of zoom? To my knowledge the zoom function is cycle only. I can't find a "zoom out" button to map the wheel to, even if I COULD remap the wheel.

How did you set the scroll to fire?

For those of us not so code friendly, just having the dev's put a mapping option in the controls would be nice. I'd like "up" to cycle the zoom modes, and "down" to pop my 4x zoom. I'm sure others would love to map "up" as 100% throttle and "down" as 100% reverse for moving in and out of cover quickly. Many things we could do if only there were a way to map it.

The joke is, that when i bought me into the closed beta...it was possible to map the mouse wheel in the UI.
After a patch (early September?) it was removed

You already can. Just need to add it in the controls file.it was bindible in game in CB for a while then they broke it and havnt fixed it yet. Since then only way is to set it in game to something other than stock so you can find it in the controls file and change to m_wheelup and m_wheeldown I dont remember if the _ goes between the m wheel or the wheel up/down right at the moment since im not at my computer.

Anyone else want to contribute?

And, for all my research, I can't find a way to make the zoom scroll in and out. Just cycles.

Would like to see the scroll wheel used in game, BUT not allowed as a fire button. Last thing we need is someone with 9 lasers using the scroll wheel to machine-gun fire all 9 at super human speed.

Bumping to see if we got any more votes waiting out there.

How many votes on a matter have to be cast to warrant a developer response?

I used the scroll wheel for throttle in closed Beta. They removed it before open Beta. I am still waiting for them to bring it back cause I cant find a better bind for throttle for myself.

I only voted no as i already use the mouse wheel for stuff, and if they changed it they'd probably break it.

I use the scroll wheel on my razer nostromo for throttle increments, customizing the normal mouse scroll wheel would be great.

You mwheel still work?

My mwheel doesn't work, since start of July.

- at least it is not permited to change the actionmap.xml
:http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/107033-custom-modifications-to-the-mwo-game-client/

Reason enough to start a new Ticket (simple because my actionmap xml has never changed since November)
The answer is polite but standard:

The problem you have encountered is a known issue and we hope to have it fixed soon. Mouse-wheel binding was causing issues so it was disabled for now. It should be back in time.

Although I just realized that i send a similar ticket. In October... were I asked why the key binding didn't have the mouse-whell options:
