Me and my team got into their base and that’s were the matches battle happened. My team and I took down a HBK and a Phract on their cap. I then jumped on the plane and used its fin as cover while I shot some assault mechs.
A minute into the battle I got off the plane and flanked left by the front side of the base. I reduced an atlas to only its torso and legs and spotted a Catapult. Like an ***** I followed it into the bottom tunnel and left my team. I did some damage to its back with my pew pew beams and UAC5s and noticed my srms were out, and then my UAC5s ran out.....
I noticed it had regular PPCs so I closed the distance and finished it off with green death.
After I finished the Catapult I noticed it was the only one left on my team. Hoping they didn't realize I was in the tunnel I formed a plan. I planned to capture there base, while they made the long journey to mine, I would cap there's.
The base only had thirty seconds of capture time left on it. Once again I got stupid and in a cocky move I typed "the day is mine" in all chat, while I thought of the guy that played Sean Connery from Saturday Night Live's Celebrity Jeopardy. That was a really really dumb move...
Sure enough while I was capping the base a Highlander 733P halted the capture. I thought there can only be one and engaged.
Luck was on my side and again my opponent was outfitted with PPCs. Both are center torso's had a layer of armor off and were orange. I had my two medium lasers left and he had 4 PPCs that still did some damage at close range.
It was a race to see who would die first, while sparks burst from me.
Through the sparks I saw a Highlander fall over and a second later the match ended with my capture of their base.
The guy in the Highlander was the the IGP guy I considered hunting earlier and we both said
GG.
TL;DR
I kicked *#$ and chewed bubble gum, in an epic battle of luck.
