Well, here is another design of a Kodiak 'mech in 3D.
Don't know where it'll end, but main idea is to create a modern design (not Sarna-like) of a fighting machine stylized as a bear.

I'm still puzzled about the cockpit...
Don't know what I don't like about it, but here's my second version of Kodiak's head. Originally intended to be placed in eyes, cockpit is now set inside of the mouth. This attempt was made to learn basics about materials and lights. Eyes are projecting light now and they are made of colored glass. Kinda proud a bit, cause lights are really blinding (it can't be seen in attached renders) and of exact shade I wanted.
First two pictures are rendered with two external light emmiters. Third one is made in complete darkness enlightened only by two flashlights inside eyes.

I like it. I have a version of the Wolfhound I am experimenting with a Mouth-Cockpit on. I think it works a lot better on yours than on mine.

I almost think of it as the face bowl on a Kodiak themed Elemental Suit, so I am very curious to see where this ends up.

Nice work!

Started working on CT and LT. After a bit of sufferring general geometry is ready. Pics will arrive in few days, when work is done.
Currently I'm working on main design so I'll continue adding details as work moves further on. Finished inventing material for nose optics. Hope, now it reflects light as military optics should. :P

I like the optics-turret / nose concept reminds me of the M1A2's CITV.

well, it's been a while since I last worked on my Kodiak 'mech. I still have a lot on my plate, so I'll just upload a latest try on CT and LT. These renders are just explaining general geometry. A lot of detail is gonna be added to it. Problem is, I'm not satisfied by any of my several attempts yet. Paws will be definitely replaced by some other thick armor pieces.
Now I'm working on addind further detail so I can finally imagine it's armor design.

Well, I went further on modelling shoulder and StreakSRM6-s. Encountered a coupla unexpected issues, which held me back a bit. Now the trickiest part is done, so I'll show it as soon as it is entirely ready.

So this post is about the left arm. It's modeled with internal structure, which is almost completely covered with armor. Main idea is to convey the fact that there are sensors, servos, radiators in it (ammo crates deep inside) et.c. and the fact that there are different types of armor which depend on the weight spent on armor.
Now the hand is ready only till it's elbow.

First render is a bottom view and it shows radiator in the centre and three types of armor.
1. standart sheets of armor (left side).
2. standart armor enhanced by active armor box (right side).
3. Thick block of multilayered armor with built-in active armor (bottom)

Second render just shows the back of the arm weakly armored compared to the elbow and front side.

Next post will show entire arm wielding 4 medium lasers.

Model looks great, but smoothing looks awful.

Mokou
Do you mean couple of mistakes in smoothing like on CT or LT? They are already fixed. If you mean the fact, that they are too smooth, then there's nothing to worry about. As I've said, most of it is just a general geometry. That means, that it'll have a lot of detail added above. The 'mech's naked like T-80 tank can be.
Now left hand is the only part which is shown as intended. Even head still avaits it's turn to be detalized.
