Why bother buying a clan chassis when you can just trick your IS mech out with clan tech? You think you've seen boating? You haven't seen anything yet. 4 ton one crit ER Large Lasers. 6 Ton two crit ERPPC's, and weight savings going right to standard engine. Max armour is the same.

I may or may not use the clan mechs. But one thing is for sure I am looking forward to the clan vrs inner sphere rivalry. As well as the house rivalries. How the devs will balance all of this will be interesting. I hope that there is some individual house and clan mechs based on faction though at the very least.

I'm not going to play for the clans, no sir. But whatever happens, I'm getting my Stormcrow.

Same here, I shall kill its clan owner and make it my own! Unless of course we get the Nova, gotta have them jump jets.

Well, technically it would be 10 vs 10 wouldn't it? Clan stars are 5 mechs :D

For me it is pretty irrelevant. I like the game in itself and am pretty unbiased by "Lore". One thing is true though: If Clan mechs end up being significantly "better" it will probably be the end of IS mech usage. When have you ever known regular players to NOT go for an advantage? Sure, there will be some that will not use the Clan Mechs out of principle, RP, loaylty, etc. but if I continuously get hammered in my "normal" mech on the field, my fun in-game has lessened. So I either quit or get an "equalizer" whatever that may be.

Clan mechs will not be better. Clan tech will. If you use a IS mech with Clan tech, I do not think you will do much worse than using a Clan mech with the same tonnage.
P.S. - I will join a crusader Clan the first moment I can :) Die freebirths!

If I had my way, they'd set the game back 25 years and we could have a nice, bloody succession war for 25 years - with proper IS tech and none of the Clan cheese.

As you can understand from that, I'm not going to be playing any Clan 'mechs any time soon. Or ever.

id like to stay in my IS rigs, but clan mechs are just stupidly fast. stock heavies as fast as tweaked IS mediums ect ect. if some how pgi balances weapons, if they forget about clans speed advantage, it wont matter

Like any powergamer worth his salt, I'm going to use whichever side has a higher chance of winning. PGI isn't going to be able to make it so each side has a roughly equal chance; it's going to be imbalanced one way or another.

Ok, omni-mechs are awesome, I know. However, I know there are some Inner Sphere loyals out there. Some may do it for role-playing, others may as a testament to the old-school. I'm curious about the whos, and the whys, as well. How many of you just simply aren't going to grab the Clan mechs? Who's gonna grab one as soon as it hits shelves? I'm curious, and I'm sure you are too, at least now. ;-)

I have a story to fill in. Joe was a 10th LG the whole Invasion. Through their trial on Huntress

Nope. Never was a Clanner in the TT, not going to be a Clanner in MWO ... However, I WILL use IS mechs based on Clan tech. I can't gimp myself totally. :D

While Clan tech might slowly become available over the next few years, players should never play as the Clans themselves. The clans should be NPC enemies. Just so we're clear, Wolf's Dragoons are not part of the Clans anymore for all intents and purposes.

Depends on how they implement clans, if I can put the tech on my existing mechs to improve them, I will. but I'm pretty happy with some of the loadouts I see now

I will likely stay in my IS stuff majority of the time, but I will jump into a clan mech from time to time also.

I don't want to align with any clan but I really want a Dire/Timber wolf. Besides that I will probably deck out IS mechs in clan tech. Omnimechs in TT rules offer very little that we can't do with the current hardpoint system and all the different variants etc. Want a dual Arm gauss heavy? Jager and Cataphract 4x serves you just fine. No need to blow 20million Cbills on weapon pods for your Timber Wolf.

I just hope I can mount clan DHS and weaponry on IS mechs.

The timberwolf was the first battlemech i have ever seen when i was 12 or something and fell in love with it.If i keep playing with Clan mechs,i don't know yet.Probably not.I love playing the underdogs.

If I can salvage clan weapons and tech and swap out my inner sphere stuff yeh I would use the clan gauss , laser, ppc, missles, and endo steel. As far as clan mech chassis still prefer the inner sphere like the look but i would not turn down a highlander 2C or a king crab.

Just a refresher remember Clan er PPC do 15 point damage and 15 point heat in table top, Clan streak 6 are a *****, and gauss and clan ultra ac 20 weigh less.

That is giving me some sleepless nights. Worst dream coming up against a mad dog with dual ultra ac 20 does 40 point damage each weapon. Clan mech boating 6 clan streak launcher can you say ouch.
