In my point of view a Mode without a bases is totally necessary.

1. Some lights allways head for bases
2. Once you are winning 7:0 and you are on a large map a light basically heads to your bases and caps it. Once you are too slow with your assault mechs you loose dat match.

Iam asking for an arena mode where you can have Team death matches. The total dmg per Team counts once you are not able to kill the last mech within the matchtime. Match time should be between 5-7 Minutes.

I dont think a mode without a base wod work on our current maps due to one team could hide in cave in a canyon or in any position which gives them an advantages.

Make the Players of each team get spawned at mixed places- means: player from Team a gets spawned into sector C with player from Team b. Each team has to regorup and find each other on the map. This will help to make the Arena mode even moar excited while your team members ar spread at the map.

Also you will see moar 1vs1 if players get spawned at different locations at the map.

So just create simple and "small" Arena Map which shouldnt be difficult to build.

Mw4 had several great arenas to play without bases.

Watch the videos to have an idea what iam talkin about.

OH LOOK ITS THIS THREAD AGAIN!!!

And if you get capped every 3rd/4th match, DEFEND YOUR BASE!

You'd think you'd figure it out by now, but you must be pretty dumb to not figure out the easiest way to stop a cap if it happens that often.

May not particularly agree with how you say it Hammerreborn but I agree with the sentiment. Having bases is necessary so that lights cant grief a 7-0 match by just simply shutting down in some cubby hole, Or JJing to some high out of the way place and shutting down then making it a 15min hunt for the squirrel. Honestly OP just learn to not leave your base completely open.

Your post sounds pretty offending and close minded :(

Anyways to give you a respond. Even if you moove back you get seperated from your group (mainly 2-3 ppl heading back to bases). that means you are out numbered at the front line. The light mechs from ennemy team can easyly head back to their maingroup. Your main group at the front line has a huge disadvantage then.

I only want to fight and not care about bases. a game mode kinda that is part of every fps- why not in mwo?

So the light defeated your team using divide and conquer strategy. So the better team won? Send everyone back? Only send one back? These are all options before you. But instead you QQ like a little whining baby and post a thread repeating what at least 7 others have said, so you have that going for you.

Hell, it's kinda hilarious. I'm such a reknown base capper that I've seen teams specifically wait at their base for me.

One match I ran over through the cave in Frozen City and found 5 [poptarts] waiting for me. As I zipped away because lets face it, they're called [poptarts] for a reason, one taunted "get a knew schtic hammer, we knew you were coming".

So I killed 6 of them and racked up 900 damage, ending the match by legging, de-arming, and just ripping apart the taunter while my team watched (this wasn't during the tourney and I was playing with friends).

Well you prooved how rude and close minded you are. Once you play with at least 4 unknown players in your team you cant expect them to do what ya suggest them (suggest : only one heads back)

Even thou i dont think that capping a base with a light mech to make the ennemy team split up is a good and honorable tactic- its simply cheap. I never cap bases on assault with my ligt mech. Your probably one of those players who only want to win, no matter which tactic and how.

To your ridiculous argue not to use an assault mech: Should we all use light mechs? Even if iam in a medium mech its not easy to catch cappers at a large map like alpine. I´d say you are super close minded

Considering the only thing to do in the game is make money and if you are driving a light in general you ARE NOT going to make money because damage>all things on the pay out scale.

What do you expect the light pilots to do? Line up and let you shoot them, they are really good at taking hits. Amirite.

Moreso in a pug, I'm a force multiplier one a team with coms, but in solo drop meh, I'm out to troll in a light, if it makes you mad tough.

Ya...I like winning?

Are you admitting you like losing? Then why complain about caps? You should just get a faster mech so you can shoot something before that clock stops ticking.

And I pug all the time. It's really, really not that hard to go "I got base" and head back. Or say "I need help, at least one come back"

Or if you see 4 running back, go "hey everyone head back" or "we dont need 4 back to base, only let the hunchback go"

Causing rage is about the only fun left for me in this game, and light mechs are the best way to do it. Lights being my favorite to ride just makes it all the better.

When I can be arsed to log in that is.

Issue there is PUGs tend to be like an avalanche, it takes WAY to much typing to turn around 4 guys, particularly since the two up on the line tend to notice they are alone and fall back as well.

I hate trying to type and fight

Not likely I haven't logged in for about a week :(

I keep holding out for some hope, but odds are I'm not going to play much till the 21st to check out the a content patch, and I'm sure as hell not giving them another penny.

No, we don't need game modes with only bases, because we have two of them already. Or, would be incredibly unfun to play because modes with ONLY BASES would mean there are no mechs, and that would be like watching paint dry.
