I started to play a Cent recently since I was getting bored with my sniping Dragon, and it's wild wild west out there when I do that. Huge swings in unbalanced teams both in skill and weight. Lots of times I get a real lightweight matchup where we have like 3 lights, 2 meds, one assault and 2 heavies, while we face 3-4 heavies, assaults and one light. It seems like going with a medium in my Cent throws the matchmaker into confusion and it has no idea what to do. When I go with my Dragon I get matches quicker and I seldom see as huge differences in weight. These hugely unbalanced matches with my Cent occurs even when the matchmaker toss me into a game within 30 secs or so.

Since ELO is different between weight class, it's not surprising. Perhaps your medium ELO is vastly different from your heavy ELO.

I don't know. When I play my Cataphract 4X it's all assault and high damage sniping. There might by one light or one medium on the whole team.

When I play my Raven It's all lights and honorary lights with only a hand full of heavy and assaults thrown in.

I wonder where the medium are though. Do they all hang out together?

Well, in my current play with the Cents, I've seen a lot more interesting stuff that happens.

I've gotten groups where I'm the "fastest mech on the field"... so I have to rely on the Steiner Lances to do the dirty work.

I've also gotten light mech swarms where I try to participate in the mayhem. It's glorious when the enemy doesn't know what to do with you.

I've also seen a bunch of Cent-bombs and Wangs...

When I was in an Assault (Stalker was the last one I went through) or my "OP" ECM bird, I see a lot less diversity. You know exactly what you're going to get and when you get it.

I would hazard a guess that mediums are treated differently, because they may actually be calculated differently somehow, except the "role warfare" that is anticipated for that class isn't actually "working as intended".
