Piloting a light or medium is all well and good, especially if you don't think an assault will never ever shoot you. Which they will.

I will definately bring mediums and heavies. Mechs like a catapult are great for support and mediums like a Hunchy is a good brawler. I am also hoping that the blackjack makes it into this game :D

I'm planning on piloting Jenner and Catapult, but i'm not sure which one to get first, because i probably can afford only one. Also i cant wait for Bushwacker to come.

I see myself primarily doing recon for my team in Jenner.

Gone for the Legendary Founders so I get to pilot all four!

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how the light works in the field. On paper the recon effect seems good, but when people start getting good with the heavier mechs the armour will be the issue.

Still the Raven should be a game changer in a good lance. getting the NARC in to the right place at the right time can turn any fight.

I'll have a nice mix of Medium, Heavy and Assault. Never been a light mech fan. Although I love to terrorise them in a twin LBX-10 Bushwacker :D

I've seen a whole lotta people give a shout out for the Bushwacker, and i would be one of them too, hard to beat its capabilities. But since the timeline is kick starting up at 3049 i hope no one is really holding their breath since it didnt come out till TRO 3058, which is a looong time in-game.

OK, I know I am new to the posts, but why exactly do people keep naming Mech's that are not going to be available at launch?

I have seen more clan referenced Mechs on these types of posts that anything else.
I can understand the what you would like to pilot vs. what is going to be available, but the majority of the threads are in effect asking, What would you be running at the start of the game. Which is IS Mechs.

Me.

I'm usually happiest in a 70 tonner.

that said, I am not enamored of any of the heavies so far. The Awesome is probably my first choice, but I woul ddrive a Hunchback, Commando or Spider too.

Personally, i enjoyed lighter mechs in multiplayer (ah, days of LAN) in earlier mechwarrior games, but it usually ended in situations that might be explained like this : fly buzzing around the head and being annoyance.
They were not able to shoot me easily, but i was not able to bring them down. But time (and ammount of armour) were on their side so i think i will keep myself to heavier mechs than i did in the past.

Any advice?
