I basecap to like 90% done in my 140kph Cicada if the enemy team lets me. I then run back to join the fight - normally everyone's pretty beat up, and a speedy little thing with a 50 point alpha can killshot a lot of folks of they're already heavily damaged. If they enemy is still too strong, well, they likely didn't send anyone back to stop my earlier cap because they're all slow, so I just hightail it back to their base to finish off the cap.
Most of the time they send 3-4 guys to stop the cap, which works too, as they've split their forces and the guys they left behind are probably getting slaughtered. I dodge around for a while just keeping their attention, and when their teammates are mostly dead I lead them back to my own team. This really only works on maps with a lot of cover.

I noticed that noone uses ravens anymore. Most light i see when playing is 3ML + 3SL jenners or ERPPC spiders.
I took out my 3L for a few rides and it was no fun. Even running at 150kp/h while zig zagging like mad doesnt help. if you encounter enything at distance it can alpha you or your legs. below you can harass until some other enemy comes into alpha range.
Put the raven into the garage again.

And yet, if you dont have a high Alpha Setup the Raven is still one of the hardest Lights to kill going thru all shades of yellow to orange to red...(still not dead???)...

A lot of good discussions and good points. Id like to point out what Gryse was saying about not getting rewarded for going to base cap or spotting the enemy while scouting. If they gave us more rewards for doing our job as a light mech then i think more players would play the role. Give the lights more dmg? i dont think its a terrible issue, i still see some matches where lights are top honors on the end of match boards.
It feels like our role is "defined" and we should be playing it, but we arent getting recognised for doing that role.
Im crossing into dangerous territory here, but with ECM the way it works, it significantly reduces our effectivness as scouts and information relayers dramaticly. Perhaps change the way it functions as a piece of equipment? im not a dev only a pilot, but it just feels... off...
Good discussion tho, i appreciate everyones input.

The Raven is about the only light I drive at present even though I like the Jenner better.
Why?
Because in this environment of high alpha your life expectancy is directly tied with how long you can remain undetected so the ECM keeping you off their sensors helps since a lot of people lean on sensors as a crutch rather than use the ole mark 1 eyeball.
The Cicada 3M works as well but with such a big CT it gets cored quick.
That being said Seismic in its current form really screws being stealthy but it can be done, just have to be a lot more careful.
