most of the claims i have seen are from people who like the reticule jitter and realism, but don't like the screen shake itself. lawsuits are probably unlikely, but people who get headaches easily or suffer from motion sickness might be driven off.

what some of us are saying is, keep all of the aiming difficulties, but remove the effects that make playing painful.

People were already dumping their JJs to get some extra tons to add more weapons and increase their Alpha anyways. First up this thread is flawed since in the patch notes they mentioned that the shake and random weapon aiming was only while the JJs were on. That does not do much to the meta but make it harder for jump snipers. At close range aim matters less since a slight movement does not throw aim off as much as it would at long distances. Plus the shake goes away once you turn the JJs off and can still do these maneuvers. Second I am all for anything done by the Devs. to make this game more realistic. I do not care if it makes things harder for me or past tactics impossible; all it means is that I have to adapt (oh well that is life). Hearing that we were whining to get rid of poptart sniping and that PGI listens to only us is in fact whining welcome to the club. The fact that PGI listens and makes decision based on player feed back and data that they collect is a good thing; Go look at other games and their designers most do not care what we think (other than our money) and do not fix problems that arise unless they are game breaking. Yes there are features that I do not agree with (UACs and the Heat system) and I made the suggestions about them, but other than that that is all that they are and there is nothing there that PGI has to do so I deal with it and move on. Here is my two cents "If you do not like it? No one is twisting your arm to play."

You can still hit while in the air. You just have to shoot on the way down.
I really like this patch.

The shake seems to be working fine, as mentioned before you could pop up just far enough to get a shoot off then drop back down. Now to do this you need to rise higher into the air and line up/fire your shot during descent making poptarts more vulnerable but not totally eradicating them. (That is flavor of the month players instantly swapped to LRMs, but hardcore poptarts will still be fine.)

FYI, the "shake" idea was taken whole sale from MW:LL. MW:LL, however, has far better JJ's overall.

Perhaps I am confused but his point 1 is called "scouting". You are glad that the JJ change has "taken care" of scouting?

i can still scout just fine with the jump jets on my jenner. have been for most of the day.

sorry to hyjack - but just a quick related question: Is the amount of shake based upon tonnage (as I think it should be) or not?
Can't really test this out too well as the only 2 jumpers i have are my raven and black jack.

i predict massive flooding for the next week or two and then people will find some new flavor of cheese to abuse. after that there will only be the occasional showers.

i have heard it is supposed to be and my catapult seems to shake much more than my jenner, BUT my jenner also has fewer jump jets.

No they weren't, you let go of JJ so the reticule could recenter then fired.

As i've stated in a different post this screen shake will NOT reduce JJ poptart sniping only the rest of JJ gameplay.

actually in my jenner i have been firing plenty WHILE still running the jump jets. i haven't changed my play tactics any and i have been doing just fine.

IIIII have kills since post patch in middle of JJing, regardless of shake, probably a dozen or so recorded already. Obviously that's sort of a 'shoot from the hip' scenario but nevertheless, still effective. So yeah, in middle of JJing. Still getting kills. It's not hard. Arm lock before firing and focus.

bah! arm lock is heresy! also i like to be able to aim down since most of the time my targets are too far below me to hit if my arms are locked. i like doing bombing runs with the ERPPC mounted on my jenner.

Out of thousands of posts, roughly half of yours are about the merits of MWLL. Are you even playing MWO atm?
