I do not "pop-tart" ever as the SOLE means of play, but You chose to listen to a minority of whiners and ensured that in addition to solving the total non-issue of "pop tarting";

I can now no longer do lots of core battle things:

1. USE JUMPJETS AS A MEANS OF SIGHTING OVER RIDGE LINES (TOO MUCH SHAKE).

2. USE JUMP JETS AS A MEANS OF FIRING OVER A TEAMMATE IN A CLOSE IN BRAWL.

3.USE JUMP JETS AS A VIABLE WAY TO LINE UP AN AC/20 TO A MECH IM FIGHTING WHEN WE ARE FIGHTING ON A SLOPE (COMMON) AND IT IS ABOVE ME.

Those are just 3 basic ones that pop into my head and are totally drastically noticeable after ONE game post patch.

The sad thing is this only breaks your combat even more as far as balance goes for any mech with a jump-jet. Other than being able to pop over a ridge slightly faster than walking there is no point to having JJ's now.
Why even bother having Classes or variants, your making mech combat so vanilla there is little point to playing.

I cannot help but think that you are overreacting just a bit here, Shinikaru. You can still do all the things you've mentioned, just not as pin-point accurate or effective as before. When you start seeing the same Mechs using the same load out and the same tactics in packs and groups, you know for sure that something in the game is out of whack. You know what? Maybe you're bang-on and all the Mechs with jump jets will suddenly become earthbound. I highly doubt it, but we shall see.

Wait, so they really did nerf those Mad SkillZ people's ability to bog a match down into stagnation? One would think that with the change, it is a chance to show off just how skillful you are, right?

I think I am going to play tonight.

Pretty much exactly what happened yes.

Now the people that know how to play well will do just fine while the meta warriors will fail horribly.

As good as this thread sounds, I forsee another issue. Thanks to no heat penalties, PPC boats are still lingering.

Give them time. Once fix at a time for a small developer. They are talking about potential solutions for boating and for PPC's. Let's wait and see what they come up with before we continue the complaint train.

Oh hey, look:

Attacks by a Jumping 'Mech

Jumping makes a 'Mech harder to hit, but the accuracy of weapons fitted to the jumping 'Mech is also adversely affected.

Guess what.

Hold spacebar > get ariborne (reticle shakes) > release spacebar for half of a second (reticle gets back to normal) > fire all your weapons > hold spacebar again to land safely.
That new feature changes nothing.

WOW look at all the trolls in this thread! These idiots are in games as well and all I have to say is QFT. Your all proud somehow of the level of bitching / crying / whining that you have spent so much energy on. The fruit of your labors is a arbitrary "skill tax" for people who beat you badly (despite the fact you never learned to just push and flank)

This is the first "tax" of its kind added and I sincerely hope that the next "skill tax" they add (because there will be more) is aimed at whatever you like to drive. How about global shake and KD?

Nerf AIM and tactics as well please because singling out components is OP

Oh and JJ shake doesnt stop when you let off, mine shakes even after I am on the ground, and aiming while JJ is going is almost impossible close or far (random weapon movement, random reticule movement etc) I missed an atlas less than 200m in front of me - well strike that he was hit in the arm with one ppc shot of 2 (they are mounted together so aiming different directions from same mount- thats cute)

Really PGI? Did you even test this, it totally borks any hope of a mech using JJ for anything other than jumping over an obstacle (even then you cant see where you are going) When you heard all the people crying about how bad JJ was you should have checked their diapers first because they are definitely full of ****.

The one thing I will say about the JJ nerf, is that the screen shake alone, regardless of the outcomes in the game, will lower the amount of poptarts just due to the fact that no one will be able to play a poptarter for more than 10 rounds in a row without having an epileptic seizure.

"poptarting" as the tactic is now know as, was a tactic that PGI didnt want in the game due to the unfair advantage it gave high damage alpha mechs (i.e. highlanders, cataphracts). This makes me very happy to see the ppc/ppc/gauss+JJ builds going away to slightly less zomg 1 shot kill builds. As a light pilot (ravens in particular) the JJ shake doesnt really bother me, im not worried about firing in midair, i use JJ as a means of escape and misdirection.

As with all content patches, youre going to make some people happy with changes and others upset. Game isnt perfect, its in beta.

I think the intent of JJs were to traverse terrain. You meta abusing trolls turned it into an absurd tactic that plagued the game for far to long. Your tears are delicious!

The only people affected by the shake are: Lights and people who get easily seasick :)
