Jumpjet "shake" Just Broke Half The Combat In This Game For Me.

Get over it kiddies. Did you really expect a smooth ride while having several rockets strapped to your back? Yes, then you deserve to cry more. Seriously, there's enough tears here to fill a small olympic pool for the mentally handicapped. If you guys are complaining about this being unfair, you should come to my seminars about how life is going to stick something into your something without applying something first.
/rant over
As the proud owner of a 732 that has no jumpjets, I commend this action.

This is the first "tax" of its kind added and I sincerely hope that the next "skill tax" they add (because there will be more) is aimed at whatever you like to drive. How about global shake and KD?
Nerf AIM and tactics as well please because singling out components is OP
Oh and JJ shake doesnt stop when you let off, mine shakes even after I am on the ground, and aiming while JJ is going is almost impossible close or far (random weapon movement, random reticule movement etc) I missed an atlas less than 200m in front of me - well strike that he was hit in the arm with one ppc shot of 2 (they are mounted together so aiming different directions from same mount- thats cute)
Really PGI? Did you even test this, it totally borks any hope of a mech using JJ for anything other than jumping over an obstacle (even then you cant see where you are going) When you heard all the people crying about how bad JJ was you should have checked their diapers first because they are definitely full of ****.
Did you just say that poptarting required skill? (pre patch of course).
It was jumping, and pressing 1 alpha button to have pin point accuracy into 1 location. How is that skill?
Someone killing someone else with lasers requires more skill, jesus.

Even without playing the patch I could tell you the in theory all of these things are still possible. Jumping to hit an enemy with a precise gauss round from 600m away to the CT, forget about that. The only tweak we need are JJ shake lowered or nearly negated for light mechs and you have a good change for the meta.
-k
So, we can assume you run a 2PPC jenner...

was probably but hurt by the Poptarts.
don't lose sight of balance. JJs are now essentially useless.

...still great for jumping on top of buildings and over enemies during close-range brawls.
Perfect!

I would say you are the one that needs a diaper change. It's pretty thick in there. I mean really guy, out of all the posts for or against in this thread, yours is the whinniest crybaby post of them all. Learn to aim, then you might hit something.

The actual screen shake is a really too much. I am starting to get a head ache. But like with any major correction, PGI has going to one extreme before settling on something in the middle.
Tono is correct but they did say a balance is forth coming. Give them time and I think they will equal much out as he put it should induce this shake into fast mechs at speed. They have made Lrms better however, it is quite stupid for missiles to crash into the ground on firing with a one second target loss they should fly to top arc and loiter like at launch then relock or fuel expended crash to the ground at the last target sight place. Tone down the screen shake a bit and they have made some progress. Fix the fight of lrms and some balance may be had. PGI gets a cookie but not the whole cake yet. Keep dialing in the balance and many will return to the game. ~S~ DB PS. K-wa, Tarl good to see you again....<B>

I think there should be some serious thought into removing the visual shake, because being literally sick over this game is not something PGI's lawyers want to be involved in.

Then have the kiddies stop pounding down fistfuls of fast food nuggets and fries while a perfectly good day to go play outside is available!!!

the patch was specifically designed to make it harder to do pinpoint damage while jumping, problem solved. well except that most of the competent jump snipers were already shooting while falling rather than while holding the jets, no shake while the jets are off. this sounds more like a L2P issue for the OP rather than a bad mechanic.

What about a LL poptart.
Btw it takes skill, just not enough pre-patch. Now it does.

wow.. just wow.. I don't even know how to address such stupidity!
I need to sue the motion picture industry for creating action packed movies with stunning visuals that caused me to have a seizure...except it never happened, and I couldn't sue even if it did.
I'm shocked at the lengths that the poptarting FoTM crowd will go through to get their no-skill easy button back. Troll harder ffs

Here, use mine...

To be honest it's not really mine, I took it off the corpse of a dead poptarter who only used it once in a while in threads complaining about poptarting. He's not using it any longer.

I can now no longer do lots of core battle things:
1. USE JUMPJETS AS A MEANS OF SIGHTING OVER RIDGE LINES (TOO MUCH SHAKE).
2. USE JUMP JETS AS A MEANS OF FIRING OVER A TEAMMATE IN A CLOSE IN BRAWL.
3.USE JUMP JETS AS A VIABLE WAY TO LINE UP AN AC/20 TO A MECH IM FIGHTING WHEN WE ARE FIGHTING ON A SLOPE (COMMON) AND IT IS ABOVE ME.
I am glad that JJ's have taken care of the 3 main points you have mentioned, as points 2 and 3 are called "Poptarting;" as in Popping Up quickly into the air, firing with 100% accuracy, then dropping down.
You can no longer use JJ's as a way to raise your Mech into the air and fire accurately during a boosted-phase of your travel arc. This is not a "minority of whiners" decision, mind you, but rather a decision that caters to the overwhelming majority of the playerbase.
