I'm sure folks must have mentioned this, but I think it deserves it's own suggestion thread.
I think the flea would be an excellent addition to the lineup.. Fits in the era, was an extreme common mech, and has a lot of character... Very fast, paper armor, and surprisingly high firepower for such a tiny mech (20 tons).
Would love to see this guy included in the game at some point.
Chassis Suggestion: Flea

I support mechs like this, if lag/lag shooting isn't a significant issue. The flea in MW4 was fun and sometimes effective (though rarely a part of our drop dec, since in NBT we didn't have a flea factory).

I always found glass cannons like the flea tended to be exploded quite quickly. Any heavier mech with decent tracking would generally knock them out in one or two punches.

That's totally true. It's kind of what makes them great mechs, because they rely heavily on a extremely skilled piloting. You screw up in a flea, and you die.

While I like the Flea... there is a more common 'Mech that really should be in the game.

Ever since Crescent Hawk's Inception (http://www.sarna.net...ks%27_Inception)... this 'Mech has always felt like 'home' for my TableTop play group.
Classic recon lance: 2 Locust, Griffin, Hunchback
Fun times.
Also... we need the Chameleon. (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Chameleon)

Ya, although I think I prefer the Flea because it's more of a glass cannon mech... it's like a locust with less armor (Maybe? I'm not sure how much armor the locust carried) and more guns.
The locust was faster, although the flea could run about the same speed when using MASC.

I would love to see the Flea as a variant, though I remember using it primarily as an antipersonnel Mech in (Mechcommander II, I believe?) and when I had a little extra weight for a dropship. I'd love to see a flea acting as a (very) light scout, maybe with a supplementary flamethrower to burn away obscuring foliage for team assaults to plow through and light up the foe. This is assuming foliage has any significant targeting impact.
Alternatively, it could make an excellent capture mech --- dash in, harass, and... Flea away. Pun-intentional.

The orginal 20 tons Mechs are the Locust, Wasp, Stinger. They all are Unseen mechs (copied from Japanese Animes). In other words, you want a 20 ton scout mech. Something with a fast run and maybe jump and a few medium lasers. The Flea and Hornet was a Wolf Dragoons Lostech designed/built mechs according to the Tech readouts 3050, maybe sold to other governments but not sure. Why not a Mercury or a Thorn, popular Star League era 20 ton mechs that might have survived the Sucession wars and maybe revived a production line after finding the Memory Core. The 20 ton mech is a choice the Devs will have to think about after launch. Do a total remodel of a Unseen mech, release a Star League era mech or release a Canon Unit mech. I guess make little difference what it looks like, they are all going to be easy targets for the larger mech on the battlefield.
Currently, the Commando is the lightest mech at 25 tons in MWO launch. We will see how it fares on the battlefield. I will try the Commando and mod it some, see how it goes. I think you could do the same weapon loads / speed as the (Flea, Hornet, Mercury, Thorn) on the Commando. At 25 tons the Star League had Commando and Monogoose. Not sure how long the ultra light mechs are going to last on the battlefield but i guess a conservative hot pilot with a yellow streak could survive whole battles, while doing the job of scout.
20 tons 3025 tech (Standard Armor, Standard Bones, 10 heatsinks)
has 8 walk 12 run / armed with 1 medium laser and 2 tons of other weapons / wearing 4 tons of armor
has 6 walk 9 run with 6 jump / armed with 1 medium laser and 2 tons of other weapons / wearing 3 tons of armor
has 6 walk 9 run / armed with 1 medium laser and 3 tons of other weapons / wearing 4 tons of armor
20 tons 3050 tech (Using Endo Steel bones and Ferro-Fiberous Armor, 10 heatsinks)
has 6 walk 9 run 6 jump / armed with 3.5 tons of weapons / wearing 3.5 tons of armor
has 6 walk 9 run with 6 jump / armed with 1 medium laser and 2 tons of other weapons-gear / wearing 3 tons of armor
has 8 walk 12 run / armed with 1 medium laser and 3 tons of other weapons-gear / wearing 3 tons of armor
has 8 walk 12 run / armed with 1 medium laser and 4 tons of other weapons-gear / wearing 3 tons of armor
My MWO suggestion for 20 ton mech
would be armed with 2 medium lasers, Active Probe and ECM, max the armor, with run 9 to 12 and jump to match.
My MWO suggetion for 25 ton mech Commando and it's variants
or Commando increase speed to 12 run / armed with 3 medium lasers 1 small laser / wearing 5.5 tons of armor
