Is The Match Maker Having Issues?

From what I understand of the MM PGI is suppose to have some sort of skill based tiering to insure that your always playing against equally skilled players. However I am rolling with around an 80%90% loss rate over about 6 hours of gameplay. I mean the matches aren't even close with my teams only managing on average to take out 1 or 2 of the enemy mechs. Honestly it feels like I am teamed up with the lowest tier of players yet somehow our teams are getting matched against the top tier it is that bad.
If they really are using a skill based MM in this game, these sort of sweeping defeats should be almost non-existant, especially across 30-40 matches. Something is definately wrong.

That is the problem, I am at 44% win rate and dropping fast. I think my win rate was like 47% two night ago. Honestly I don't think I have had more than 5 wins in the last 6 hours I have played. That is something like 35 losses, 5 Wins. If I was actually winning 50% of the time, I wouldn't have made this post hehe.
Honestly it is just gotten painful and frustrating especially because like I mentioned, the matches aren't even close. 90% of the losses are sweeps by the other team with us barely able to take down one or two enemy mechs. I am even averaging 300-400 damage a game and usually on top the team list as well which makes it even more painful.

Overcome the matchmaker's attempt to bring you down.

You can only do so much. Kinda hard to win a match when your the only one with a kill and everyone aside from you on the team isn't even breaking 200 damage.
Honestly, it isn't always like that but that is usually because my team has left me hanging and I get focus fired by 6 enemy mechs before I can even move.

At least knowing that it's the matching helps. I don't like having ratios that don't reflect my true ability so I need to stop looking at them. I will try to play my best and not worry so much about the end result.
Good luck to you too.

Also... now you 4 man pub farmers know how all the other players that have already left felt, when you used to have them to beat. Now that you've scared away the majority of the under hive, it is you who find yourself on the low end of the skill pole. It's ironic, and sweet justice, all at once.

Sorry to tell u but most of my guys are above 70% even with the MM fail. We still get lots of randoms for our pugs while we often face several groups or two groups of four. The main problem is we stay in the same OP mechs all the time because that is what we face. You face us and experiment in some new build and you get rolled. Any of my members try to level mechs and try stuff out, they get rolled. That is what ELO has done. Makes the game more like work then a stress relief.
If you think about, if it wasn't for 4 mans, who would you learn from?

Once we get some voice comms we might see better matches once we can chat with the pubbies.

If I framed this, the caption would read.. either "MWO community: The other reason MWO is failing." or "PGI's target audience. LMFAO." Not sure which is better. You might do that bc of ELO Mr. Cant-stand-to-lose, but I like to run my failboat dragons with flame throwers and pulse lasers. I play for fun. There's way more people on this planet that would approach playing MWO like me, than you. But YOU scared them away, so enjoying playing other 4 mans populated with the 'you's' of MWO. Oh that's not fun for you?

I'm glad your having fun. I am sorry I scared people away. Apparently running a unit with very good friends that have enjoyed working together has not helped the community. Units like mine should leave to better the MWO experience I guess.
Some people win some people lose. I'm sorry my winning hurts your ego but then again Life isn't fair, now is it?

You like to lose?

Wait. There's more people in the face of this Earth that think losing is more fun than winning?

I thought you didn't care if you win or lose? Do the others care?
Here's what I really think. You have some kind of latent inferiority complex that you refuse to deal with. So, you quit the game because it nearly made you take a long look at yourself and your "baggage". Instead, you come on here, after you quit the game, and try to tear other people down. Not just any other people, but the people who attempt to win. Those kinds of actions satiates your id. You are denigrate and a loser whom society will shun until you figure out what you need to do to be more successful. Or, you'll just start in on the meth and be dead or in jail in five years.
Seriously, in five years I want you to remember this post.

I agree. The matchmaker and/or the meta is in such a bad state right now that it becomes almost impossible to regularly win unless you bring your best mech. I tried to level up a Treb last nite and it was a colossal failure. Is this what PGI intended? I sure hope not, because I really think this game can be good.

I know it sounds harsh but yes, you should leave. Take your min/max, if I am not winning it's fail mentality, and go play something else. It would be in the best interest of MWO. But let's be serious. Isn't it way too late for that? Might as well just ride it till the wheels fall off at this point.

yeah, war gaming style match maker that flat out punishes you for doing well by flooding your team with incapable players instead of providing a bigger challenge by putting like skilled players on both teams is reason #2 on my list for why I hardly play. The only difference between this and world of tanks is my time investment, and i hardly play wot because of telia.net anyway.

Your team had a 65 tonne weight advantage, is what stands out the most, its actually not as bad as alot of games at the bottom of the ELO.
I had a game today, where one team faced of against another with a 140 tonne advantage, I joined this thread rather than start one of my own. Its getting so noticible, I'm considering recording the weights of each side, so I have a firm record of how crap the match maker really is.
