Someone said that if I play 25 matches (or win, not sure) I would get some amount of MC's to spend. Is that factual or did they miss lead me?

Is there some way to earn MC's without the outlay of real $$? With the game in beta it would seem less than wise to spend cash, if the game is reset that out lay if cash would possibly go away.

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated

They meant CBills, not MC. Only way to earn MC's is to wait for a tourny offering MC as prizes, and win

The 25 Games is in all likelyhood a reference to your Cadet bonus. Simply a C-Bill boost for your first 25 games to allow the aquisition of non-trial mechs quicker for new pilots. As far as possibly losing MC goes this is unlikely, Founders have gone through these resets a lot and in every case we have had our MC balance reset. This is the most likely outcome should there ever been a reset (which there should not be).

Hope this clears it up for you.

not . At the moment the only way to get rewards for free is by winning the tournaments.

In the past, whenever there was a reset all of your MC would be refunded back to you to respend however you liked.

It's been said many times over for the 9 months there will be no more resets of anything except possibly stats.

Oh my, if they gave out MC to new players, they would have to give it every player before then or face the wrath of a million pilots on the forums!!

On your second point, i do not believe they would not reset MC purchases - that would be suicide for the company. You pay for it, its yours.

Can you imagine the reaction from players if they reset mechs now? I have 50.. ..i can tell you i would quit the game immediately if my mechs got wiped (especially given some were MC purchases e.g. The hero mechs).

I have 61 to include ~every~ hero mech.
It'd definitely be a problem as I'd have to go through and rebuy all of my paint.

Thanks guys, it makes sense to me. I guess I'll be buying a few MC's today. BTW do they (MC) ever go on sale?

The current F2P gaming model basically advises that points never go on sale but the things you can buy with the points do. MWO seems to have embraced that model.

The MC sale last Christmas was very popular, I'm hoping/expecting one this year.

It's been asked a bunch of times and the devs have responded that there might be MC sale this year around same time as last year. Last year both Thanksgiving and Christmas had MC sales (though I'd expect them to limit it to just Christmas). As anything though take it with a grain of salt, devs didn't give any definites.

Black Friday and important shop-worthy holidays such as Christmas. More often you find sales on what you can buy with MC for 30% off, half off, etc.
