These are just ideas, but I think they could be a lot of fun.

1: Last man standing, this requires very minor modification, just take away the caps, let actual pilot skill dictate the winning team. Conquest is way too easy to troll and win, just get with 4 or 8 of your buds, all choose a light mech (usually fast with ECM) and INSTANT WIN BUTTON!!! OMGWTFBBQWESOAWESOME!!!!!! That's just as annoying as the poptarts we had to deal with last month. Just asking for a MechWARRIOR game instead of this mechSTANDINTHESQUAREANDCHOOSETHEFASTESTMECH game mode you have now.

2: How about a "Pirate Mode?" This would be harder to implement because the idea I have is to have one or both teams partially crippled, like in the books and lore. Instead of starting off with full health your mechs are damaged, it would be a test of pilot skill to make it with a random damaged mech that you don't have control over, you might get an Atlas with an AC/20 and 2 tons of ammo, you might get a Raven with 2 small lasers, but either one could have critical damage, roll the dice and do your best. As a bonus it would be really neat if there was some way to give a pool of weapons and mechs to a team and a set amount of time to come up with builds to put in the match. AKA: you have 1 Atlas, 2 Jenners, x small lasers, x med lasers x armor ect, your team has 2 minutes to build your mechs, all of which are damaged in some way then fight.

Not knocking the current modes, but it is way too easy to make a team that has major advantages, IE: all choose light mechs and capwin constantly, which honestly after you have 80 million CB is just silly and boring, and those are the 2 things that will kill this game. When there's an instant "win" solution, enough ppl will do it to make it suck for the ones that actually want to fight and it goes downhill. I say give us a deathmatch option, see how many ppl choose that over sneaky cap wins, let the players make the choice.

Any kind of TDM I don't think will have much long term appeal.

I see your pirate mode being a QQ fest on the boards.

King of the Hill might be a good one to implement, and not all that hard. Just a variation of either assault or conquest with only one base.

Eventually something like a caravan escort, search and destroy, or something along those lines might be interesting.

+1 for King of the Hill. The dropship mutator the devs say is in the works could be fun, if you had big teams with rolling objectives that updated as the game progressed. Perhaps they could string maps together so that there is a smooth transition between several zones as the game progresses, e.g. Frozen City -> Forest Colony Snow -> Canyon Network -> Tourmaline Desert.

Capture the flag could be neat, but there would have to be some details hammered out to prevent the mode from being all lights, all the time. Maybe the captured object is a power core that is heavy and slows light mechs down. I'm just blue-skying at this point. Maybe a "protect the VIP" mode.
