Just played 10 games straight. All of them absolute walkovers of premades vs randoms.

My favourite was the game where I dropped in a team with mostly trial Mechs, against two 4-mans of predominantly founders, who had 4 Atlases between them. Even by MWO standards, that is just completely borked.

Has anyone else had the experience today of very very lopsided matches?

While I am used to seeing a lot of 8-0 8-1 games, today seems to have been particularly 'special'.

EDIT: Ooops I meant to post this in the Game Balance forum. Perhaps my brain is completely borked today also :(

Ya, I had a ton of crazy games.. huge tonnage disparities.

What's weird is that we were just playing in "any" gametype.. so it really should have been able to find a better match.

I dropped with you last night OP... My guess is not many players left or not many players in a given elo bracket

Tried playing some again.
Awful, so far not a single balanced match, watching three one legged spiders fighting against a ERPPC cat, a centurion and a jager.
And the rest were all rolls.
One roll was won the rest were lost.

How hard it can be to even out the tonnage matching or spread out the PPC cheese between teams...

I'm a huge fan of the matchmaker but today was.... just odd. I had a couple of games that had to be in the neighborhood of 300 tons off. Also dropped with some absolute newbies - people who were still in trial mechs and had no idea yet how to fight in them. Shooting off into nowhere, getting lost, etc. While dropping against a team with 1 premade and 5 very talented people. It was a steamroll that reminded me a lot of the pre-MM days.

This isn't normally my experience but today was just.... I dunno. Way out of whack. I either dropped with or against people far outside of my skill range in both directions. That's not typical.

Strange... yesterday I had the first "winning streak", my first thought was that this is really unusual...
And some minutes ago I had a match in which each member of my team were acting like a bloody beginner an did less then 75 damage (I was the only one with more then 200 damage).... total disaster.

Same for me. Think my record today is something like 2-20. Fun times.

I don't think you realize what stomping does to a game. It reduces the playerbase.

My guess: we have an influx of new players subsequent to the Phoenix Project. New players get thrown into an average default until the ELO sorts them out into the right skill band.

The matchmaker is utter rubbish tbh, tonnage inbalances, skill matchup imbalances, still getting 8-man teams vs pug teams.

Its a sad day when assault mechs outnumber every other class, in every game!.

Thx for making a new Mechassault PGi, cos this is basically what it is atm.

I bet most people posting here are focusing on the bad matches and ignoring the good ones.

Since this thread started I've lost about 10 matches in a row. But yea I'm just not focusing on the good matches.

It's fairly balanced on my end today. What mech are you using?

Lower than the normally low player numbers perhaps?

I had three games in a row yesterday where almost my entire team were new guys in trails. After about 4 minutes of searching for a match too.
Then to top it off I had two matches where goons thought they'd be morons and just shut down in a corner after doing sweet FA. Sigh.

Trying to finish off highlanders. But you know doing top damage every match and getting 0 kills 0 assists it's probably my fault.

Not sure about anyone else, but I have zero reason to log in atm. PPC/Gauss meta is dull and pointless.

What are you talking about? PPCWarrior Stompline is a fun and balanced game with exciting, close matches.
