New versions of Fire Control and ADHD up, re-jigged the second post a little.

Latest versions fix the repeating issue when fire is bound to a keyboard key, and also the issue where if no modifiers (Ctrl, Shift, Alt) are set, fire would not work if you had any modifiers held.

The upshot being, if you used a keyboard key to fire, and were experiencing unexpected behavior, try this new version.

I also changed it so that if you leave Ctrl, Shift and Alt unticked in the bindings tab, then if you have Ctrl, Alt or Shift held the fire button will still work.

Oh, and one more thing Punk...
How do you have your other fire buttons programmed?
For example, you should have Left mouse and Right mouse programmed to weapon groups 1 and 2.

If for a given build you do not need weapon group 2, you can bind Fire Control to Right Mouse.

So your fire sequence is 3,5,6,4,5,6
Make sure there is nothing in weapon group 2.
Bind Fire to RButton.

Now you can happily use the right mouse button for the rapid fire.
Were you aware of this?

I typically use mouse 1 for left weapons, mouse 2 for right weapons, and then spacebar for chainfire-groups/arm-only-groups depending on the build, then use E R C for launching LRMs or anything else where I don't have to be moving a whole lot to fire them. And of course F is still alpha strike

But on a mech using such a fire sequence (ie 2xUAC5 + 1xAC2, multi AC2 etc), then generally you may not have any other weapons on that mech.
So bind fire to Right Mouse in Fire Control for that build, so you do not have to use the keyboard.
As long as you have nothing in weapon group 2 for that build, it will be quite happy.
I would be cautious about binding fire to left mouse (for obvious reasons), but right mouse is fine.

Hello,

I just gave this a try and I am having trouble getting the toggle to work. I see that it is flipping my scroll lock on and off, but it isn't toggling or even activating my TAG. I have it set to toggle group 1, which is where my TAG is, though I have tried other groups as well. I a using the executable version. Any ideas?

Do the regular fire functions work?
ie program a fire sequence of 3, set something in weapon group 3 - does it fire?

If not, then you are probably experiencing issues related to MWO running as admin and UAC.
See the second post for info on fixing that.

I have a funny issue... when I try the Weapons toggle... my textures change ( and the whole screen gets dimmer?) weird as heck!

The fire delays all work perfectly. It's just the toggle that doesn't seem to be working. I have UAC turned off.

Which button are you using for toggle?
Failing that, it may be worth trying the ahk script version just to be sure.

Any ideas why the toggle isn't triggering the weapon group in-game?

ok, I am back haha. So now when I use a keyboard button to chain fire, when I let go of the button my computer lets loose a chain of sounds. (that sound when your trying to click/do something that the computer won't allow you to do)

This happens with spacebar as well as letter keys
This happens in notepad as well.
This does NOT happen when using mouse buttons

I am not sure if this is some setting on my computer, or the firecontrol program

I tried a few different ones, various mouse buttons, mouse buttons mapped to keystrokes, and keystrokes. In all cases I'd see the scroll lock toggle on and off but nothing would happen in-game.

I'll give the script version a try.

You are still getting this, even with the new version?

Anyone having any luck getting this to work in Win8?

I can get it working in notepad, but not in MWO.

Also, can you guys post your 'settings' in the ADHD for different build and mech configs? It would be neat to see what is working for folks.

evilC. THANKS BRO!

If it is working in notepad but not mwo, it will be a permissions issue.
Either find out what the win8 equivalent of UAC is and turn it off, or run the script version of fire control.

Some timings:

2xUAC5
Rate: 550
limit rate ON
best to use "Change Fire Rate" binding to control double shot mode.

2xUAC5, 1xAC2
Rate: 275
limit on.
Fire seq 3,4.
UACs in grp 3 in chain, AC2 in 4.

4xAC2
Rate: 250 (Actual rate is twice as fast at 125)
Use "Change Fire Rate" option - game starts at half (conserve heat) fire rate, hit "Change fire rate" binding to switch to full rate.

Ok, I tried downloading the library and running the GUI from the script, but the behavior is the same. In detail:

I have a macro defined which fires two weapon groups (4 and 5) with an 1850 ms delay between, mapped to the right mouse button. This works fine in-game.

I also have a toggle defined. The toggle weapon group is 1 and I have tried mapping it to many keys and mouse buttons, most recently with mouse wheel up. When I use the toggle in-game Scroll Lock goes on and off as I would expect as I toggle on and off, but nothing happens. The weapon group, TAG in this case, does not activate at all.

I was using a mech with TAG in group 1, and LRMs in groups 4 and 5.

Any ideas?

Wait, are you using SweetFX? Because scroll lock is the toggle for SweetFX. I disabled the scroll lock light indicator in firectrl because of this.

@Tostito:
Have you tried disablng UAC? If the app works when testing in notepad etc, but not in MWO, then one way or another the problem will be linked to permissions.

@kuang:
Fire Control should not mess with Scroll Lock. It turns the *light* on and off, but does not mess with scroll lock itself. Is toggling triggering sweetfx?

Yep, I just checked the script and tested it. SetScrollLockState changes the state of the key so SweetFX toggles on and off. I think you need a special function to control just the LED. http://www.autohotke...olllock-lights/
