For some reason, after this last patch I keep getting teamed up with almost entirely new players and matched against 4-mans and experienced players in PUGs with (seemingly) higher Elo scores.

Has anyone else noticed really unbalanced matchmaking since the patch? I mean more than usual?

I have noticed this also but I think it is due to less players in the match makers overall que .I also play War Thunder a WW2 airplane game it is fun but when the Match Maker runs low on players it start picking random players of higher tiers to fill in for the battle. MWO has basically the same type of MM system so I can only assume it works the same way when the number of players is less picking random players of various ELO ratings and 4 mans to fill in for battles to be played.

Yeah, it's weird.

I'm a fairly experienced player and used to getting 2-4 kills per match on average, depending on which mech I'm in, but since the patch I've noticed a slight drop in my K/DR — I'm lucky if I get out of the match alive with a single kill.

Not sure if this is intended or if the MM is just really broken right now...or if I'm being thrown in as "filler" because my Elo is higher and I'm expected to carry the weight of 6 or 7 other inexperienced players.

Either way, the last few days have been kind of annoying.

Between matchmaker problems and hit detection problems, my stats are going backward after months of improvement.

If players were sorted into teams after 16 connected instead of being sorted during connecting, the result would be fairer. Just a suggestion.

Yep, many players are playing "Wait For Hotfix:Online" so the "Mechwarrior:Online" queues are probably getting thin right now.

Agreed... Matches usually end 8:0, either for or against me. Usually against. I've had games where I've had 6 kills, but since the patch I seem to die faster than normal.

On the last patch feedback thread I posted that out of 60 games around 50 were in the 8-2 area. Getting an even match instead of a steamroll is a rare and precious thing. Perhaps things will change with CW so they're not bothering to tune MM at the moment? It needs all the tuning it can get.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. I actually thought I was seeing it on a mech by mech basis before the patch certainly after. We I first buy a mech, it seems like I'm getting matched against weaker (like stupid bad) players. As I play the mech up through basic and into elite, it seems like I'm getting matched against better players, and as I get mostly through elite, it seems that I start getting paired with newer and far less experienced players on my team. It seems like they are trying to pair one or two really experienced/high elo players with complete newbies/ low elo players,.. That may seem like a good idea and nice for the newbies, but if you are the one experienced player, .... it gets real damn frustrating. It's gotten to the point, I almost hate dropping alone.... pitting a solid mid ELO team against a team with an equal cumulative ELO but with a much higher deviation between high and low is not fair to either the high elo players nor the low elo players on that team because a team with a high deviation will get beat every single time by a team with an equal elo but a low deviation.

I see the same issue. A mostly noobie team is pitted against mostly veterans, which leads to a virtually automatic win/loss. Yeah, you can overcome/mess up in a big way, but that rarely actually happens.

There is a separate problem when mostly medium/heavy teams meet balanced weight teams (with sensible assault and light numbers). This also tends to skew the results in a dramatic way. The light-less team can spread out to die alone, or stick together to get out-capped.
