I use 3 flamers instead of ML's, 4JJets, full armor, endo and the cheapest XL engine with 3 dhs in it (I forget the number).
Its really great to take out other assaults and heavies. The 3 flamers cause them to shut down after just a few second's fire...and I even made a stalker detonate himself with his PPC's after jumping over and under him multiple times as I flamed him. Was hilarious.

Runs a bit hot if you rely on the PPC too much, in return you get a good mid-range bruiser. 100 to 300 meters you'll be able to do quite a bit of damage. It's tricky to keep the range open, doable though. It's definitely not the top Victor burst damage model -- it's more a precision shooter/ torso buster.

My play style is that of a precision sniper and I love taking out targets even when they're hardly big enough to fill my reticle.
My alternative builds are 1 Gauss, 2 ERPPC and 1 Gauss 2 PPC. The latter is quite a cool build, and I can achieve a near 1.9 heat efficiency, which is as good as a Cataphract 4X with quad AC5s.
My Dragon Slayer packs 3 PPCs and 1 Gauss. After the heat change, I changed the grouping from 3 PPCs (first group) and Gauss (second group) to 1 PPC/1 Gauss (first group) and 2 PPCs (second group). Works fine with me.

VTR-9K
VTR-9S
The 9K makes judicious use of all hard points and every slot of space available.
The 9S also uses up all slots, but hard points are left free. Still, it hits very hard at close range, and it has long range reach. I could downgrade some weapons for a bigger engine (350/375), but the speed is just fine. It can keep up with most heavies and get away from assaults it can't deal with.
Alternatively, you can try this:VTR-9K

i run a similar build to your second 9K, but i use ML rather than MPL. it's becoming my favorite. i'm learning to love the ac20 on my other builds, but, having ability to reach out with the gauss is handy at times and gives you more tactical flexibility. sometimes i'll run an ac 10 instead of the gauss. it's sturdier and actually out paces the gauss slighty in DPS under 450 m.

This was the only AC/10 build that I found viable:
VTR-9S
The primary weapon is arguably the SRMs. I'm sure there are others out there that make it work with the AC/10.
I prefer this replacement for the AC/10:
VTR-9S
It has full armor like the one above, but it downgrades one SRM6 to and SRM4.
Alternatively, you can strip armor from both legs down to 53 and use the extra ton to keep the SRM6. That's the better option imo.

RA - Gauss + 2x AC/ 2 (3 tons of ammo each)
LA - 2 MLas
XL 360
2 JJ

ammo placement and armor distribution might not be the same, except for the head where i really lower to 10 or so.
By the time i run out of ammo (if i do) i score 700+ damage, so i'm cool with that
Victor VTR-9B
XL 320
Same loadout as the previous one, except
LT - 2xSSRM (1 t ) + BAP (or not, can't remember)
