It needs SRMs to work right so its missile-arm isn't completely worthless. It needs more energy hard-points on its arms, not on its torso. The AWS-PB is supposed to be playable as a fast striker/brawler, and it cannot be played that way if most of its armaments are on the torso. It should be taking advantage of its XL400 engine cap plus weapons it can actually aim quickly -- which must be arm-mounted. One more hard-point isn't going to make it a good, competitive mech that is worth $30. That should be PGI's concern -- losing potential wallet-warriors by burning them with a ****** mech that costs a lot. EDIT: I actually own and have played AWS-PB to mastery, by the way. It's one of my 44 mechs. I don't know if that's true of every poster on this thread. It looks like a bad mech on paper, but it's even worse in reality, due to its slow turning speed and inability to aim most of its weapons quickly.

im not trying to make the PB competitive only on par with the other aws variants and assaults. 90% of assaults all have 7 hardpoints (unlike PB with 6), on paper this would be fair and not pay to win. where and what this hard point is may push it into a competitive area but even if it was in a crappy area at least its fair and equal.

I have a PB up to elite. If I could sell it for half my MC back I would. Then again the entire Awesome line is less than awesome compared to other assaults of the lighter end. Don't know why I always end up working through the most crummy mechs. Just like a challenge I guess......
i agree the whole line sucks and the PB sits at the top of the heap but i still play them.

-Move one missile hard point from the arm to the right torso -Add 2 laser hardpoints to the center torso OR -Move all missile hardpoints to the right torso -Add a ballistic hardpoint to the left arm
adding two laser will bump its total hardpoint to 8, +1 over most assaults and adding a ballistic would be nice but unless its in the books these guys wont seem to do it eg. they are currently packing stock mechs with FF instead of endo and everyone pays cbills to swap them unless its in lights. i must of miss the part where the PB deceleration like a ocean liner in the books.

The latter of which will be utterly useless come the 30th, and was already kinda pooed on in the last patch. If anything, it is going to become inferior to regular Victors... LOL. Too true.
the victor may be worse off with its unique layout but on paper is equal with no trade offs.

It does seem like PGI was scared of offering an Assault that could do 89 kph, so they nerfed the hell out of the PB. But in light of all that's happened since the PB's introduction, I think it's obvious PGI screwed the pooch with this mech.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the PB needs. I guess I'd like to be able to run 3 or 4 LLs, a couple of SRM packs, all with an XL400 and decent heat efficiency. At least, that would give it decent firepower and speed, to make up for its laughable fragility.

While they're at it they should remove the hand actuator from the 8Q left arm. It blocks an additional heat sync which would go a little way towards improving the mechs ability to laser boat (as it should). I've been having decent success with the mech but it was hugely underwhelming to build it in mechlab and realize you either have extra weight left over, or incredibly bad heat efficiency. There was no good options to find a middle ground.

thanx for voting but what your asking for is impossible or looks like this. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...12d4a43317063e5 4.5 spare tons to make up for the engine difference to a 400.
if this meets your criteria then it is possible with what i original proposed, one more hard point (it could be an energy anywhere)

The hardpoints suck - but they're workable. The stopping speed isn't. Assault mechs depend more on using cover and have to be more precise in everything they do. The ones that aren't end up dead. It's one thing to put a nerf like that on a mech like the X5 or YLW. They rely on speed as much as they do cover. PB, even at 89kph isn't fast enough to pull that off - and isn't burly enough to run solo. So instead, you have a 30 dollar mech that can't get close enough to other assaults to fight (without trampling them or getting trampled itself). And it can't survive out away from the pack. The whole selling point on this mech was the ability to run an XL400. The dragonslayer can do that now as well. With none of the penalties or limitations... These two should be roughly equal if they cost the same amount. They aren't and its not even close.

Now, I love my Pretty Baby. But I'm one of the strange players whose favorite assault is the Awesome. While SRMs were at 1.5 damage a missile, it was a bit rough being a Pretty Baby. With SRM at 2.0 damage it's become much better. I currently run an XL 395 with 3xSRM6+A, 1LPL, 2ML. Victors are fast, 80 ton brawlers so between those and the SRM buff I've been tearing it up. My PB goes 88kph so I find the Victors on my team and run with them to get in on the enemy, generous torso twisting to avoid torso damage, and tear people up.

That said. I've always found the deceleration "buff" to be a liability in the PB. If I'm not paying attention and forget to drop my throttle a second or so before I would for any other mech going 88kph, then I find myself sliding around a corner I didn't want to slide around, which is sometimes fatal. Another hard point in exchange for not having to worry about sliding out too far? Yes please!

PB build that I've been averaging 450 damage and 2 kills a match.

Well, okay, how about making the head energy hard point two slots instead of one? Then one could at least mount a LL or LPL up there. I would also like an energy hard point on each arm for a better firing arc on the move. Bottom line is the PB needs to be able to mount more firepower. I would definitely trade SRMs for more energy weapons.

I'm against pay-exclusive variants (regarding the hardpoints/engine/whatever, not the paint job and grinding bonuses) as a whole, so I can't really make a reliable judgement call on this.

I love my PB, ive mastered it many times over, and yes in general it sucks <Or I suck.. same thing really>. It is good fun currently with the SRm buffs from the last patch but still nowhere near as good as pretty much any other assault or heavy you'd care to mention.

That said I bought and paid for it and I knew what I was getting into with this little beast, the thing that really galled was having to fork out 6 million or so creds for the damn xl400 engine!

So as to getting PGI to change it.. no i'm against it, it is what it is and not a lot of point fixing it now.. However the main selling point point of the PB is its speed and as far as i'm aware the fat old xl400 engine doesn't fit in any other mech.. so perhaps what PGI could do is sell it with a bigger engine included.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0211407a90c8426 i run something like this and do about the same damage, my win rate and kill death is pretty good but this mech is a up hill battle from the start.

you can type but you cant read, its pay to be equal. unless you can explain how one hard point and normal deceleration is p2w. im all ears buddy, i stated my case how the current pb is not even equal in stats and hard points or modules or equipment. so lets here it funny man.

I've found the hardest part of using the PB is knowing when NOT to use your speed. It's so tempting and easy to Leroy Jenkins and just die. To do well, hang back for a bit and let the battle start before trying to flank, unless you have a couple fast brawlers / strikers like Victors or Dragons or something like that, then hang out with them.

double head slot would of been cool but the dev wont stand for it i think. i would love an extra on the left arm too but to keep things simple a hard point anywhere will be fine. it will make the mech equal to all awesome and assaults in terms of hard points and equipment.

currently the mech is not on par with its counter parts. all awesomes have 7 hard points and the PB has 6, and it is the only variant that has a nerf. the victors on the other hand all have huge engines and jj and 7 hard points but no nerfs.

do you see how its unbalance? just to point one more thing out, no other heros have any nerfs but they get a bunch of small perks. the PRETTY BABY is very unbalance when you compare the mech to assaults and awesomes

new hero victor can pack a 400 with ZERO drawbacks. no reduction in hard points, jj, equipment, deceleration.

btw the 200 degree torso twist on the PB is not exclusive. all the awesome can do it.

The Victor Dragon Slayer can also mount a 400 size engine.

i just figured out i havent asked for a refund ever. i can refund this hunk of junk and buy a dragon slayer instead. then i can play a mech that has no nerfs but loads of perks.

Don't do it. The patch on the 30th is going to make the hardpoint config poopy, and the thing has paper armor.

As the owner of a Buyer's Remorse, I have to agree with the OP. The PB brings very little to the table. It certainly doesn't deserve a nerf-quirk and could stand a buff. An extra energy mount in the arm cannon would go a long way, or another modual slot. Hell, make the arm SRMs 6 slots and we could talk.
