I'm having a problem with my logitech M510 wireless mouse and this game. In this game, and THIS GAME ONLY, my mouse seems to snag and then jump form place to place.

It's not framerate.

I went on logitech forums for trouble shooting and have done the following:
-swabbed the laser with a cotton swab
-"reinitialized" the mouse
-tried different usb ports
- put the mouse on different non-reflective surfaces
- replaced the batteries
- uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers
- messed with the windows "pointer percision" setting

Again, it works fine normally and in any other game, but for MWO (even in the mechlab) it seems to be having issues.

anybody else having this problem or any ideas on what else i could do?

new one on me.. i've used my Razer Naga Epic wirelessly and my Logitech g700 wirelessly and both never gave me a problem... I almost wonder if your power supply is running tight on power as this game will push your system more than ANY other game out there right now...

edit: we're gonna need your entire system specs to help you any further at this point. (mainly motherboard, powersupply CPU and GPU so we can determine your power draw and what you can do to fix it..)

edit: check and see if theres any ports on your motherboard (in the form of a 4pin square or 4pin across) open that one of the cables coming from your powersupply may fit. Once we have the model number and can search your motherboard we can see if there are any of these ports that would need external power.

Where is the computer located in relation to the mouse?

Control Panel, Power Options, Best Performance

Darken the area around where the mouse is located or moved the mouse away from the monitor (testing). I had a m510 (now used on the laptop) where I had similar issues with the erratic behavior, which was more noticeable while playing. You can also change the signal, in case there is some other sort of interference.

When playing MWO, what other devices are you utilizing?

I can almost guarantee that this is an overall computer hardware issue

I have a Razer DeathAdder - the wired variety - and sometimes I have the same issue or an issue where button presses are not registered, but only in MWO. I run MWO on a laptop and I just do not think that my poor system has the power (or processing capability) to give every peripheral and process the attention it needs

I think you guys are right about the power issue. I just switched my power option in windows from "balanced" to "best performance" and it seems to be better.

I'll update after playing a bit to make sure it doesn't come back.

Edit: Yup, that does indeed seem to have fixed it. Thank you very much all for the suggestions and help.

can you post your specs for you machine? you may be pushing the PSU to hard if balanced was cutting power to your USBs

edit: unless its a laptop in which case it wouldn't matter

So, the problem has persisted, and upon a little closer scrutiny i've noticed the mouse lag/jumping/non-responsiveness in other games as well to a lesser degree than in MWO.

But, today one of the poorly made side buttons broke (cheap plastic snapped) so i'm just going to toss this P.O.S. and get a new mouse anyway.

In the meantime, and also to satisfy another curiosity i plugged in my old asus mouse (which is NOT wireless) that came with the rig, and everything works fine.

In any case, here are my system specs:

System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.

Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16366MB RAM

Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode

should be good

i used the CM Storm Spawn at 3500dpi it quite speedy except its an optical mouse

it couldn't track shiny surfaces when the cheap logitech optical could just glide along nicely

fail...
